It's about freaking time.
This makes me very tempted to get a part-time job at OPACY just to throw smokers out.

So can't smoke anywhere in the park? No designated areas? That is going to be real tough for drinkers and smokers. Don't hurt me none though.
I don't really get the point of infringing upon the rights of people who smoke in the designated areas away from the concourse but not a huge thing and more a reflection of society's shifting opinion on smoking.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Nowhere inside. Must be 25 feet from the gates.
Of course people are still going to try to sneak smokes in the stairwells/bathrooms/upper concourse. They didn't say how they were going to enforce it, hopefully they just eject them. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of faith in the staff/cops doing their job.
I guess we're making an exception for Kakes' smoldering good looks.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
There's an article in the sun. Stadium authority said they'd gotten many complaints over the years that people wouldn't stay in the areas and stadium staff wouldn't enforce the boundaries. So they are axing it altogether.
This is like the gun control debate. Smokers are smoking outside the designated areas so now they're banning smoking altogether? But the people smoking outside already weren't following the rules.
When guns start emanating cancer, let me know!
when people start getting cancer from exposure to trace amounts of smoke outdoors, let me know
Hey, I'm all for the ban. I'm just saying, the people who weren't following the rules about designated areas are not likely to follow the rule banning smoking completely. I don't see this rule changing anything.
You're an idiot if you smoke. Therefore, banning smoking bans some idiots. What's the problem?
This is a good move.

phew, as long as dipping is still encouraged my people will flourish
Maryland is a slave state. /colfax
And there's only one way to throw the unwanted out of OPACY.
I am certainly not a smoker and hate when people smoke around me, so I am actually in favor of this. I supported the smoking ban in restaurants and such, but attitudes like this need to stop. Please STFU. Yes, smoking is absolutely horrible for you and we have done a great job at educating the younger generations to its dangers (hence the ban). However, don't be a condescending prick and say you are better or smarter than someone else because they smoke and you don't
That being said, I think this makes OPACY even better. I'm pumped to get out there April 5 and see the O's (and oral throwing out smokers)

Considering what we now know about smoking, ie- it's essentially the most unhealthy thing a person can do, I'd say that's exactly the case.
Many people have a cigarette or two when drinking which many people do at baseball games. Inferring anything about that person's intelligence level says more about the speaker than the smoker. Many smart people smoke and many dumb people smoke.
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
People who only "smoke when they drink" are probably actually dumber than full blown smokers.
I don't care either way but I'd love to hear the explanation on this. You're saying that people who partake in a lesser amount of a dangerous activity are dumber?
i'm a hell of a lot smarter than you dingbats and i enjoy a handful of smokes on a friday night along with some big can beers and baseball.
this is far from a big deal. camden yards and m@t were one of the few stadiums left that you could smoke in. all they are going to do is make smokers "exit" the stadium through a gate into a closed off area to smoke and allow re-entry.
I used to think that, but there are there different circumstances in which people start to smoke. Its hard to know the story behind it (maybe they're trying to quit or took it up before all this info was out there). I am just not a fan of being condescending based on a single trait about that person, especially since it can be so influenced by culture and its addictive. Don't get me wrong. I support the ban, just not the attitude because for some smoking is not a choice
you are approaching new levels of dumb
