Reimold in camp as well.
28. Baltimore Orioles | GM: Dan Duquette
Acquired: IF Alexi Casilla, 3B Danny Valencia
Analysis: The Orioles had a very quiet offseason marked by signing Duquette and manager Buck Showalter to long-term deals. They increased their payroll by approximately $20 million dollars because of arbitration. But this left Duquette very little room to maneuver. A team that went from 93 losses in 2011 to 93 wins 2012 did very little to continue the momentum.
It was an active offseason that witnessed the trade of a Cy Young Award winner, several large, multiteam trades and an inflated free-agent market. So
Way late, but I just had a russ ortiz flashback
I'm in Naples right now. Someone tell buck it's a little warm down here for sweatshirts.
Reimold full go. Hitting off live pitching for 1st time today #orioles
Roch Kubatko @masnRoch
If you picked catcher Jose Gil as the player who would have visa problems and be a no-show tomorrow, collect your money #orioles
Intrasquad games Feb. 20-21. Exhibition opener 23rd #orioles
Wada is on long-toss program now as he returns from TJ surgery (John, not McFarland). Don't look for him to pitch before May
Brittany Ghiroli @Britt_Ghiroli
Tommy Hunter and Brian Matusz will get spring starts, as will prospects Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman. Orioles have 12 SP candidates.
It is going to be awesome when Bundy and Gausman are forcing themselves to Baltimore and we have nowhere to put them.
Peter Schmuck @SchmuckStop
Buck Showalter indicated O's payroll is in the low '90s -- so far. My bad. I projected it to be $105 million or so.
Adam Jones @SimplyAJ10
@SchmuckStop he said so far
Everyone should totally read way too much into that.
Soriano, come on down.
#orioles will monitor Bundy and Gausman innings this season so they're both available to pitch in Sept. and Oct. No early shutdowns
Gausman I think said at FanFest that he's going to be allowed to go up close to 180 IP this year.
You're saying it's possible to limit a young pitcher's innings by coming up with a plan before the season and not having to shut them down at the season's most important point? Mind...blown.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Makes sense. He threw 123 at LSU, plus 15 with the O's and he threw in instructional league.
Has Javier Vasquez found a home yet?
How much longer until Urrutia escapes limbo?
Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette didn't have an update on pitcher Jair Jurrjens, saying only that he hoped the matter would be resolved in the next few days. He didn't provide any specifics, including whether the Orioles could tweak the original agreement.
Also, the Orioles hope to know by Thursday whether Trayvon Robinson cleared waivers.
Position players who arrived early include Reimold, Adam Jones, Manny Machado, Nick Markakis, Nate McLouth, Alexi Casilla, Russ Canzler, Jason Pridie, Lew Ford, Steve Pearce and Conor Jackson.

he's going to be the 7th/8th starter for the nats, duh
Baltimore Orioles @Orioles
Spotted in Sarasota: JJ Hardy gets in some swings in the cage:
Trayvon Robinson is in Sarasota despite the fact his status with the O's is in limbo.
BTW, I usually develop my irrational love/hate around this time. People who show up early, especially someone like Trayvon who might not even be with the club, are awesome. Show up at the last possible second, like Josh Bell last year, and you're a turd. Love the fact that AJ, Machado, Hardy and Markakis are already in camp.
What % of last minute arrivals end up being successful?
No idea. I need to start tracking that.
I remember a few years ago when Markakis just randomly showed up one day looking like a hobo.
Roberts and Markakis have been down there for a few weeks.

It has to be low. You see lists all the time. It is always like "(worst player) and (player unlikely to make the team) are the only two guys yet to report."
I don't really care if an established player, like Betemit or Davis, show up on the last day. Obviously I'd prefer earlier but those guys have roles, they don't need to make an impression. It's the guys trying to make the club who piss me off with their tardiness.
I believe Endy Chavez was the last position player to report last year. I don't even think the media saw him until the day after the report day.
