I think the dots are so the players and writers know their status, no way Buck and Duke couldnt tell you wahts contractually going on with everyone in the system at any moment
They all have some question marks.
Toronto: injury concerns for Morrow/Johnson; age of Buehrle, Romero falling off planet last year
TB: counting on 2nd year surge from Moore rather than regression, Hellickson to keep outpitching peripherals, Cobb/Niemann not the same caliber as their other prospects
NY: innings ever going to catch up to CC?, Pettitte's first full year in 3 years, Kuroda aging + career high IP last year
Boston: will Lester rebound? is Buchholz good? Dempster in the AL East? LOLackey?
And we're all familiar with the questions around the O's rotation. Still, that's probably the right order, though you could swap 1/2 or 4/5 without raising eyebrows.
Is Buerhle the 3rd or 4th most reliable starter in the AL East right now? Put him behind CC, Price, and ???? (what obvious name(s) am I forgetting)
Your projections or someone else's?
Damn Toronto looks good on paper.
From mlbdepthcharts (except the Orioles). A great resource, if you have never visited the site.
I see why you changed the Os #5
Duquette ST pictures might be my favorite part of baseball being back.
Nolan Reimold is taking BP with Manny Machado, Ryan Flaherty and Lew Ford. Full go #orioles
If not for his 2012. But 2012 was rough for him and Romero.
That was my thinking.
I forgot about those. They're still amazing.
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
When will the sportswriters who completely oversimplify and overuse "regressing to the mean" regress to the mean of decent analysis?
I've got it
I really don't like Hughes and Nova and feel like Pettite is the least likely to stay healthy of any AL-E starter
Boston and Balitmore is really close, but I feel like their top 2 are a little more reliable than the Os
Double post, so ....
If the Os sign Lohse, I could see an argument for them being #2, based on Lohse and Chen being better than Hellickson and Moore and 4/5 being a wash

I think Hughes *could* have a big year since it's his walk year.
Things already breaking down for TB.
We already know the winner for the weirdest injury of the offseason was Francisco Liriano, who broke his arm trying to scare his kids. But we're now into spring training, and there's an early leader in the category: Joel Peralta.
Better than PECOTA?

That isn't real, right?
76 1/2 is REALLY low on O's, even accounting for regression. RT @ltw0303 @jonahkeri Vegas not a fan of the O's.
to FTN, interesting that the Mariners have the same O/U as the Orioles .....
that said, like the over on the Nats and the Os both.
lol at those o/u for the o's and nats
Only #orioles position players who haven't reported to camp are Ishikawa and Navarro.
