When the hell was Harden considered a reach? And better question, when was he considered a bust? He has been good every season he has been in the league, and this was only his third season. What the heck are you talking about?
Plenty of people were hating on the Harden pick early on. Those people usually said that the Thunder should have taken Curry.
John Wall, Shelvin Mack
Jordan Crawford/Ben Gordon
Harrison Barnes, Chris Singleton, Jan Vesely
Anthony Davis, Villanueva
Nene, Kevin Seraphin
Why would you want Villanueva and Gordon? We need to tank one more year and then start rooting around the FA pool. Unless you're assuming they're just "filler" to accomplish that purpose.
And you forgot Booker.
Still pretty weak at 2-3 spot if Barnes is Calbert Chaney, maybe he is better, if not isn't that the decent team scenario you loathe?
How are we getting Barnes and Davis?
I'm pretty sure he's still getting paid by the Sixers, though this might be the last of year of that deal.
I heard a sketchy rumor that Detroit will just give away the 9th pick in order to dump salary so of course I believed it. Someone always falls. It's Barnes. I'd only do that deal if we won the lottery though.
I was going to ask the same question as the other poster. I do like this thinking though. Get another lottery pick and maybe get a rotation player or two with our salary cap. I doubt Barnes will slip to 9th though but someone really good will be there.
HE WILL FALL
I'm curious. What player do you want us to tank for next season?
Oh yeah. Sorry that every hole on the team wasn't instantly fixed.
Am I the only one that thinks Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is going to be the best overall player from this draft? He's not going to be Durant but he will be better than Michael Beasley. Wall and MKG could do some damage.
You're right -- better we should sign mid-level, mid-talent FAs and finish 35-47
No. I'd prefer Davis.
But I am thinking Andre Iguodala for MKG, and that is a pretty good guy to have on your team.
I'd take Davis first, of course, but MKG and Beal are very interesting. I think both could be very good, or they could both be a little small for their ideal positions.
I think MKG or Beal would be their choice if they don't get the overall #1. If they're at 4 or 5 and both are gone it'll be a choice between Barnes, Robinson or Lamb. I doubt any other player would be on their radar.
We should just draft Davis and sign Andre Igudala (isn't he a FA?) and run out Wall-Iggy-Singleton-Davis-Nene and win games 72-69.
Please God no Iggy. He's going to want too much money and he's not even good.
