Maybe wreaking havoc on their home attendance numbers when we come to town.
That reeks of Bleacher Report.
At least with MKG, he'll probably suck as a rookie since he can't shoot for shit and we'll be back in the top 5 next year.
Sounds like Randy Wittman is going to be back.
I like Wittman for what we have.
It makes no sense to try to coach up 3 or 4 extra wins until you're good. Maybe Ted actually does understand the NBA a little bit.
I expected this move. We're going to still suck next year anyway, no point trying to get a veteran coach to take over a young team.
That is true. Though if we land the #1 pick i'd imagine there would be some coaches lining up for the job
D'Antoni or bust.
Ernie Grunfeld on Coach Randy Wittman - "I've said it all along, Randy has done a very good job. The players responded to him very well. He and I work well together and the players like him. Randy is under contract as well as the rest of our staff. "
If we get the #1 pick tonight, the Wizards will go all out to make a playoff run (free agents, trades). If we get any other pick, I agree with Hogie. No need to get another coach for 4 or 5 more wins.
If we don't get the #1 pick, then you might as well lock this thread for the summer
Assume we get Anthony Davis, whatt would you like to see us to at the 2 and 3 spots? Wht available free agents could we get? Trades? Does Lewis have 1 year left of that contract? Could we amnesty?
I'd rather do nothing and get the best possible pick next year while Davis gets his feet wet.
This is what the Wizards are thinking according to the Post this morning.
The Wizards also have Singleton at the 3 spot as well. They also have a very high 2nd round pick and a middle second round pick.
Free agent list.
Alonzo Gee should be interesting. I would make a pitch for him. A combination of Jeremy Lin and Anthony Davis would give the Wizards as much national clout as the Nationals. They would be on national TV all the time.
They have lots of options so it will be interesting to see what happens tonight.
The last thing we need is to burden ourselves with a piece of overpriced garbage like Joe Johnson or Rudy Gay. Plus, maybe we get lucky in the 2d round and get a Michael Redd or a sane version of Gil.
Rumors: Wizards looking to move pick if they don't win lottery, Celtics looking to package picks http://dlvr.it/1f3kPF
NBA draft net has us with Robinson, Draymond Green and Mike Scott if things play out percentage wise. If we can just stay in the top 4, we will get a stud. I think it slips after Davis, Robinson, MKG and Beal.
I'd trade the pick for a Boston unprotected in 3 years!
What in the world does "national clout" mean? Jeremy Lin is awful, and with him and Anthony Davis they would be on national TV . . .like. . .never.
Kool, you are the most optimistic, die-hard wiz fan on the face of the planet. Are you Ted's son, the lottery kid?
From the Wizards Magic 8 Ball:
Do the Wizards win the first pick in the 2012 NBA draft?
I'm so damn nervous, UGH. Getting the #1 pick changes the course of history for at least 10 years.
Wizards win tonight and we'll average 50 wins a year for the next decade
Get even the second pick and averaging 35 wins is much more likely
I was just throwing out Jeremy Lin's name because he is a media darling right now. I would be shocked if he leaves New York. BTW, I don't think the Lakers will agree with you on the "Lin is awful" statement after he dropped 38 points on them.

Pretty much true. Actually 35 wins may be optimsitic.
