I would like to keep Motel but I hope it's not too long of a deal.
Please stop ranting about Espi. He's not going anywhere and he's a worthwhile piece.
I don't like moving Garcia to the rotation.
any chance rendon gets a look at 2B, especially if espi has another poor season?

Espinosa didn't have a "poor" season.
Yeah, I guess that's unfair to say. If Rendon starts killing it, though, it seems like 2B would the spot up for grabs if Zimm/Desmond/Espy stay healthy and have similar seasons next year.
1B LaRoche / Morse / Moore
I say run it back.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
Resign Laroche, let EJax go and have Lannan/Garcia fill in the #5 spot for now. Keep Morse in LF, keep Espy at 2B. Get a couple new bullpen arms and were set to have the best record in baseball again next year.
No big signings or changes are necessary this offseason. Maybe another 1 year SP deal for the #5 spot, but I'm fine with Lannan.
What is the Meyer timetable?
You barely know if Garcia can handle a 7th or 8th inning role for a season - though he looked promising - let alone a 5th starter spot. If they go that route he better be the 7th option. Meyer could start at AA next year and be ready for 150 innings or so. But - he could also be a weapon out of the bullpen later in the summer if that group falls apart.

I think I heard Meyer is 2014 ready, so maybe we bring him up end of the season for bullpen work or spot starts if something happens to a SP.
Thomas Boswell @ThomasBoswellWP
Drew Storen, in last 26 g, allowed 2 runs in 24 IP (0.75 ERA) w ONE walk and 21 K's. In DS, 0.00 ERA vs Cards. Hottest reliever in MLB.
Yeah I really doubt Garcia makes the transition to starter so effectively and quickly he's in the rotation early in the season. I'm fine with Lannan as the #5 guy if they think Garcia can be ready a couple months in the season if/when a starter needs a DL stint. Definitely wouldn't mind another 1-year contract for a veteran starter, though. I suspect the money they'll save on Jackson leaving will go into LaRoche's new contract.
Completely writing off a 20-HR middle infielder with plus defense before he turns 26 is insane.
2nd baseman ... wanted.
So has the mood shifted from wanting to sign someone like Greinke, or is that still in the mix?
Also, I really like Laroche at first. Bailed us out so so many times defensively.
i'm fine with keeping laroche at 1st.
moore can continue to come off the bench, spell time out in LF/1B/DH ... but I don't know if you could afford to still have Morse out there in LF.
and i'm all for greinke.
Stras, Gio, Greinke, Zimmermann, Detwiler

I had to turn off the sub horn alert on my cell.
I finally built up the courage to watch a replay of the 9th inning. Big BIG mistake, back to depressed
