let's win the world series.
that's what i'd do.
From the Nationals Magic 8 Ball:
Will the Nationals win the 2013 World Series?
J.P. Howell will be a nice addition.
I thought Mike Gonzalez did a very good job for us.
Again, would LOVE Burnett back, but it's not going to happen.
H-Rod should not be on the team, nowhere near our clubhouse.
I hope not to see too much of Storen or less of Storen and less of Clippard this coming season and would like to see the SPs stretched out a bit more from last season's 6 or 7 innings to 7 to 8 innings; and also see two to four complete games from the top three pitchers a man and one or two from the bottom two...

I agree. Too much dependence on the relievers last season. It worked fairly well in the regular season but they got worn out in the playoffs. When you're sending Edwin Jackson out on a relief stint, you know you're in trouble.
Not sure why you'd make this blanket statement -- if in spring training he's showing that he has his control worked out, he becomes a huge weapon. Certainly worth keeping around unless he's gone full Ankiel.
Plus if you can rehabilitate him, a guy with his stuff has trade value.

@jonmorosi #Nationals remain confident they will get LaRoche. Morse then could be dealt to Mariners, who have big interest.
/checks Mariners' bullpen
no. he's not good.
mattheus/stammen/etc are so much better. who cares if h-rod throws 100 if it's nowhere near the plate or when he's forced to throw one down the plate RTs like barajas are taking him deep.
done with him. this isn't the same nats teams that can afford to rely on projects or risk/reward types. they are trying to win. done with him.

Burnett officially off the board.
Howell vs. Gonzalez ... who do you gents want?
I'll take Howell only because I dont like Gonzalez's dumb fall of the mound delivery. Would be pretty funny if we got a propect from Seattle for Morse, after we traded them a prospect to get him.
Check that: we got him for Langerhans, not a prospect, but still.

2/8 for Burnett doesn't seem THAT outrageous. Kinda surprising they didn't make him a better offer unless he was dead-set on leaving either way.
he liked it here ... surprised we didn't offer him a deal. 3/10-11, i would've been fine with that.
Lol at cutting Hrod. Sweet idea. Unless he's going full Ankiel in Spring Training, he's going to make the Opening Day roster, and he should.
You start Garcia as a starter and if Hrod falters you can just put Garcia back in the 'pen. Nothing to lose.
may have to re-change my vote to you in WPT ...
hrod is awful. none of his supporters should complain on here when he's blowing games left and right as usual.
rizzo has been great in trades, but got fleeced in the willingham for brown/hrod deal.

What's the harm in keeping a guy with sick stuff? If he doesn't figure it out we send him packing and if he does, well great.
b/c he'll boot someone that actually deserves a spot in the bullpen, because of his "potential".
again if we're talking about the dark years, i'm all for going with that type of player. but every game is important. nats need to bring the 25 guys who give the club the best chance to win.
as we've seen with oh henry, he's not one of them.
davey/rizzo left winter meetings today very optimistic about their chances of signing LaRoche as goodman mentioned. sounds like its going to happen.
It's not like he's going to be pitching before the 7th inning.
Robert Griffin III @RGIII
I must say that @Bharper3407 background is legit
Bryce Harper @Bharper3407
And I must say @RGIII is the funnest quarterback to watch in the league right now! The now and future of Football! #DCswag nflR.O.Y
Bryce Harper @Bharper3407
The fact the RG3 also just got me over 100k followers makes me like him even more! Thanks brotha! #100k
yeah...that is pretty awesome
Jackie Robinson isn't dirty. This isn't Pack Pride.
dc > the world
Is Harper a Redskin fan yet?
You'll have to draw the bandwagoning out of him slowly, like thinning out a poison. It's deeply entrenched.
RGIII will heal him.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
RGIII and Harper are Washington's reckoning.
