Seems like it. Darren Dreger reported it anyway and he's usually rock solid.
best part of the link was watching Sid get hit again and again...just put it on a loop :)
Jackie Robinson isn't dirty. This isn't Pack Pride.
is winning the Hart good or bad for Ovi's performance next season? my gut says it will hurt it.
Because he'll spend the summer getting fat again? Would hope being married to a fellow elite athlete would keep him in shape, but who knows?
The list of guys with 3 or more Hart trophies is sick.
Bumping this simply because like once a summer this hits me: Tampa Bay and Raleigh have both actually seen their teams win a Stanley Cup. In person. That is all.
Let's not forget Los Angeles.
Call me a relic, call me what you will,
Say I'm old-fashioned, say I'm over the hill....
Or Anaheim. Or Dallas
In lighter news, the Flyers just signed Mark Streit (yes, 35 year old Mark Streit) for 4 years at $5.25 mil per. el. oh. el.
Here's the elephant in the room about the nuPatrick: The Flyers and Devils are done. It had to happen eventually to Philly. Their whole existence is like if the early 2000 Redskins had their free agent ish and crazy trades actually work out for 10 years. Mad respect to them for pulling it off and almost winning a Cup. Obviously any sports fan would take what the Devils gave the last 20 years.
Basically the Caps just need Columbus to keep Columbusing and then be better than Carolina and the Islanders. Not saying it's good. Just saying that's what you're in store for. Second or third place. 4 or 5 seed. And we know the rest of the story...

I like Streit's game, but that's insane for a player the Flyers don't even really need. The Rangers need a guy like him in the worst way, so an overpay from them would have at least made sense.
I completely agree, Streit has a role on a lot of teams. The Flyers aren't one of them, and that contract is going to be terrible for them in about, oh say 8 months.
Remind me to bump this when we find a way to sign Ribeiro for the next 5 years, though.
Yeah, but is Chicago building a team with a 10-year window to win multiple Cups? Don't think so![/2010]
Granted Boston still needed to win game 7 but that is exactly how I envision the Caps blowing the Cup if they ever get that close, except in the Caps scenario, last night's game would have been to clinch the Cup and not stave off elimination.
Last night at the Stones concert I saw one of the frames that show long standing Washington Caps season ticket holders, and when I saw my name all I could think about was all the broken promises and dreams I have had with this team...
Mcphee said yesterday he has no plans to trade Neuvy which probably means he is gone....
So we try to trade Schultz and if we can't do it we buy him out right? I doubt Ted opens the wallet to let McPhee do more than one buyout. Ward and maybe Chimera would be the only other real candidates.
Overpaying Johansson is going to be our big mistake of the offseason. I'm guessing Ribeiro walks.
Just get Lecavalier. That's what I'd do.
The most pissed off man in the NHL about that one is Mike Ribeiro. He was in line for an overpay from someone as the top center available in this class. No longer.
I have no idea how much Vinny could pull in FA, but I'm sure there will be a line of potential suitors. Not that I think he'd come here absent an overpay, but if you're GMGM you have to at least try to sign him, right?
Already been coached by Oates, too. If he says go, McPhee has to explore it, at minimum.
Washington selected Swede Andre Burakovsky. He was ranked #24 on Bob McKenzie's consensus list.
Typical Caps pick, though not Russian. Winger, inconsistent. Would have been all over Shinkaruk, even if I didn't know who he was an hour ago.
Just read a scouting report, the writer compared him to who else
Sweet, a euro! Why not just shoot every fan in the face instead?
Washington Capitals: B
Picking 23rd, the Caps land one of the top skilled players in the draft in Swedish forward Andre Burakowsky. If he matures and learns to play without the puck, he could be a star. Madison Bowey from Kelowna of the WHL has loads of offensive upside, but will need to shore up his decision-making and defensive play. Wild-card pick Zachary Sanford from the EJHL, selected in the second round with pick No. 61, could surprise many. He will likely go to college (Boston College) to give him the time he needs to develop.
