I approve the non-sabermetric version of a series thread that you've posted. I'll be going to the Tuesday game, tough series though. If we can find a way to get 2 out of 3 I'll be stoked.

Zimmerman since ugotwilcoxed got banned: 12-35, 3 HR, 4 2B, 12 RBI
Thursday night will turn the clock back night with 1924 editions of uniforms. I saw them in the team shop the other day very clean indeed.
Anyone going to the Wed July 4 game?
Fix your days...Tues, Weds, and Thurs.
I'm heading up on Tuesday night...will be the first time seeing ol' Mitch Kramer pitching in person. Not what he once was, which is a shame.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
NLCS preview, too bad they drew the ass end of the rotation vs. the Giants front-end.
I think Giants take two also; which two is the question: W-L-L...

I'll be there Thursday night. NLCS preview, indeed.
I'll be there for the 4th of July Game
I suppose we are basically sitting out international signing day (?)
And yet, our "ass end" is pretty f'ing good. Pressure's on them. If we can somehow steal two it will be a sign of destiny.
Yeah did not mean to imply they were terrible. They just don't match up well with the Giants top 3 (assuming Lincecum is rebounding)
But what does Nats Magic 8-Ball say?
My heart just stopped for a second.
From the Nats Magic 8 Ball:
Will the Nationals win at least two games against the Giants in the upcoming series beginning Tuesday?
"My sources say no."
Walter 'Big Train' Johnson!!!
Nats will wear 1924 uniforms on turn-back-the-clock night
In Griffith Stadium the crowd catapulted out of the stands to thrash onto the field and to dance on the dugout roofs, refusing to leave the park until long after nightfall.
The next day, of course, it was up Pennsylvania Avenue toward the White House for the World Series champions, the streets lined by tens of thousands. The city’s joy was best expressed, perhaps, by the enthusiasm of the men on the hook-and-ladder float of the Cherrydale, Va., Fire Department, which flaunted a huge banner that read: “Let Cherrydale Burn.”
Awesome: The Nats will host a turn-back-the-clock night on July 5 against the Giants, during which the 1924 World Series champion Senators will be honored with a bunch of throwback touches.
For example, these are the uniforms and hats the team will wear. Approve approve approve.
Washington, of course, defeated the New York Giants in that 1924 series. (Shirley Povich recap here.) The Giants will also be wearing throwbacks on the night, though I’m not sure exactly what those will look like.
There will be other atmospheric touches around the ballpark meant to create a throwback vibe, including special gear for the ushers and grounds crew. Also, the team will be handing out scorecards inspired by the 1924 World Series scorecard, seen below. Note that “Base Ball” will be two words, as in the original; it’s not a typo.
There will also be throwback prices on concessions; hot dogs and other snacks typically cost a nickel in ‘24, so on Thursday night, if you purchase a hot dog, peanuts or popcorn at 2012 prices, you can get the second of the same item for 5 cents at all Nats Dog stands.
The night is presented by WB Mason, which will also be handing out replica trucks to the first 15,000 fans.
I love how they're doing a retro hat giveaway this season, but not on throwback day. Makes sense.
I'm probably going on the 4th.
god starting series threads is HARD
BA listed you as one of the favorites for one of the guys in the top 20.
It's amazing to consider that the "ass end" of that lineup has a collective ERA just over 3. In the Nats favor, they avoid facing Vogelsong, who has had a career year. There's no way to determine if Lincecum is actually rebounding. He's had a really interesting year in that he still gets people to swing and miss all the time, but his control isn't there like it used to be.
The Nats are very reminiscent of the Giants teams from the past few years in that they live and die by their pitching. If their nucleus of pitchers stays together for a few years while they continue to develop/acquire hitters, good things will happen.
I'm setting the over/under at 11 runs scored between the two teams collectively over the three game series. Anybody want to take the over?
The big concern there is that we aren't patient enough to take advantage of a good pitcher with no control.
We're only patient enough to take pitches against a good pitcher with good control.
I'd take the over, particually since I see us being down late in at least two of the games. That means Davey throws out Wang, where bad things generally happen.
Or we could, you know, light Lincecum the fuck up. Of course, this requires us being patient and taking walks to take advantage of Lincecum's recent control issues.
