More on Morse's glove:
Over the winter, he received from Taiwan a specially made mitt, containing his No. 38 in two places, his name on the index finger and his nickname - "The Beast" - on the thumb. It's not major league-approved, and Morse uses Wilson products for his game gloves, but the left fielder was more than happy to show off the gift to the media in camp to cover Wang.
VIERA, Fla. - For a few minutes Wednesday afternoon, a Nationals player was swarmed by Taiwanese media, who crowded around him outside the first base ...
No way the Rays would have done that. Gotta be bad intel.
I'm over 30 and white. Find me a legit zip up Nats hoodie...preferably w/ the curly dub.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.

so, Elijah Dukes got arrested again. Got pulled over late in the night/early in the morning for a traffic violation, had a bag of weed in his lap tried to eat it ... the cop was like naw dawg, and then noticed a blunt in Dukes ear.
That's my guy.
That's pretty awesome.

we need another OF don't we?
save us dawg ready
Hey Rizzo couldn't do that deal, it was imperative to get Edwin Jackson in any way possible.
Oswalt to make decision midseason to play for a contender... Once we have locked down 1st place and Strasburg has reached his innings limit he'll be begging to join us for a ring.
that's why you are a smart baseball guy. i was coming on here to just post that.
oh and the Z-Man's people and Nats are meeting today. The agent is scheduled to fly out tonight, so this sit-down could make or break a possible extension before next offseason. Better send backup for Rizzo mafia ...
So, let's talk more Nats. Can't remember if it was mentioned here or in a Boz chat, but, assuming it'll be cold in Chicago and New York to start the season, do you save Strasburg for the home opener on the chance it'll be warmer and to protect against injury?
I personally think that's a crock of shit and will be disappointed if he doesn't get OD, but the people are talking about it. And, by God, we need to talk about something, even if we've already talked about it.
He might be on a pitch count (100 pitches could get you to about 7.0 IP in a well pitched game) but I doubt they will keep him out of cold weather games.
Wouldn't he possibly be #2 behind JZ regardless?
I don't think either Strasburg or JZ are #2 (at least order-wise). They'll put Gio between the two since he's a lefty.
i still think it could go down ...
Thur Apr 5 - @ Cubs : Zimmermann
Sat Apr 7 - @ Cubs : Strasburg
Sun Apr 8 - @ Cubs : Gonzalez
Mon Apr 9 - @ Mets : Jackson
Tues Apr 10 - @ Mets : Wang
Wed Apr 11 - @ Mets : Zimmermann
Thurs Apr 12 - vs. Reds : Strasburg
they are going to sell out the home opener and there will be excitement around that day no matter what, but i just have a hunch it's going to be Strasburg that day.
Interesting that they took the Phillies games out of the flex plans. Not sure if that's because they sold out (unlikely) or if they didn't like that some Phillies fans were using the flex plans to get around the local selling.
Stop turning him into a pussy. Tell him to man the fuck up. Seriously, Dibble is closer to being right than these big wigs who think babying is the answer.
Dukes and Milledge was a HOF combo
ummm, it's not on Strasburg dude. he wants to pitch the whole year, but is giving the company line in that he'll stop when they tell him to stop. i'm sure he wants to take the hill on Opening Day.
Sources: Zimmerman, #Nationals close on extension, but potential deal-breakers remain. Zimmerman has set Saturday deadline for deal. #MLB
Zimmerman deal with #Nationals would be for at least six years, sources say. Potential deal-breakers unclear, but described as "real." #MLB
Deal breaker = no more Clarendon Ballroom
Jesus Christ I HATE Andy Polley.
Good lord. How is it your job to talk about local sports and you clearly don't even take the time or effort to know even the slightest thing about the Nats?
The most notable remaining hurdle for the Nats and Ryan Zimmerman is the no-trade language, a person familiar with the situation said.
Haha, I haven't been there in over a year...thankfully. Thought he might be more of a Spider Kelly's type of guy anyways...
