Ok, back to sleep!
8. Peter Bourjos, CF, Angels - He is still prominent on the Nationals’ wish list for center fielders, and the Angels have phenom Mike Trout. But the Angels want big value back if they’re trading him. Bourjos has earned the reputation of being perhaps the best defensive center fielder in baseball, with speed. With Torii Hunter 36 and in the final year of his contract, there is room to keep both Bourjos and Trout.
That's a pretty good deal as long as he can get back to being an awesome fielder. What's the word on his arm?
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
looking really good at the end of last year ... i think he may be used to the new motion.
Damnit, Harper sucks. Can't hit Storen.
My favorite of them all. I LOVE the bat flip and the "nothing to it" look he gives the dugout.
I don't like the deal for a middle of the pack payroll. Not a superstar, don't give him that kind of money. I think 14-15m is where his value is.
Thank god we're not a middle of the pack payroll.
Yeah, we're not a middle-of-the-pack payroll team. We have the resources to be near the top.
So they're paying him $12 million, $14 and then six years of $16.7. Not sure how I see how that's some kind of vast overpayment from your "middle of the pack payroll" budget.
thanks for stopping by
Considering $10m of it comes after the contract so he can be Mr. Nat and shake hands and pose for pictures, the number drops to about $14.5m per.
How are you not a middle of the pack payroll? Your payroll is less than 100m and you don't draw fans. You have 2 100m contracts for 2 non superstar players. The front office isn't good imo, your financial flexibility is going out the window for modest gains.
Yep, a guy with back-to-back 7+ WAR seasons isn't a superstar. Good call.
TOSS UP: what's funnier ... 286 trolling or the fact i just saw fat ryan zimmerman geico commercial on two different channels back-to-back.

Seriously, when is the press conference?
2.5 war in 2 of the last 4 seasons. Is Ben Zobrist a superstar? Defense seriously regressed last year. Good player, sometimes an all star but you paid him like he's David Wright circa 2008.
Nats splooging for bourn or upton.
Presser in 5 minutes. I hope MLBN carries it.
Since making his big league debut a few weeks after being the fourth overall pick in 2005, Zimmerman is a .288/.355/.479 career hitter with four 20+ homer and four 30+ double seasons to his credit. Over the last three years, he's produced a .296/.370/.499 batting line with a Gold Glove, an All-Star Game berth, two Silver Sluggers, and a pair of top-25 finishes in the MVP voting. Only Evan Longoria and Adrian Beltre have posted a better UZR at the hot corner than Zimmerman (+24.6 UZR) since 2009. In terms of wins over replacement, he's been the 12th most valuable position player in baseball over the last three seasons (17.1 WAR).
game. set. match.

286 not familiar with LERNER MONEY. Big real estate businesses up near PSU ACORN are the ones that own 2 trailer parks.
No one outside of a few nats fans would call Zimmerman a superstar. Evan Longoria is a superstar. I do think the contract is good though.
11th on the WAR grid since 2006 ahead of the likes of Adrian Gonzalez, Jose Reyes, Mark Teixeira, Adrian Beltre, Evan Longoria, and Dustin Pedroia.
Pretty average, IMO!
