Let's just clinch the division and officially eliminate the Phillies from their wild card dreams.

Even with Stephen Strasburg out for the remainder of the year, the Nationals have exactly the kind of roster and manager to thrive in baseball's second season.
Let's do this!
How awesome would it be to see the team celebrating a division clinch in Philly? Unless they just tank til they come back home and clinch it here, I couldn't think of anything better.
Honestly I so want to do it against the Phillies. At least Victorino saw us clinch a playoff spot last week.
I want them to win the division ASAP, I don't care where it's done.
Davey is talking about resting the regulars once we clinch the division. He clearly doesn't understand how badly I need 100 wins in my life.
i fucking hate the phillies
Honestly, they could easily go 2-4 in these next 6 games. And the Braves are going at a minimum 4-2 against the Marlins/Mets. That would leave 3 chances to clinch at home vs Philly. More memorable that way.
Guys on MLB Network's The Rundown are reaming Major League Baseball for allowing a team like the Nats to start on the road in the playoffs and with the small chance of them getting swept, they would only have 1 home game in the playoffs ... not really a reward for having the best record in baseball (assuming they finish that way).
Agreed and thank goodness this is the only year this kind of thing could happen.
Werth hasn't actually proven to be the best investment the team's made, but he's got a good attitude, and he's been playing well since he came back and while clinching at home would be ideal, I'd feel good for him if he could generate some appropriate smirk at clinching in Philly -- or even better, some well-timed contribution in the clinching game.
this is the werth we thought we were getting. is he capable of more power? absolutely. but we need him to get on base, work counts, etc and he's done just that. he's stepped into the leadoff role nicely and sets the tone for the rest of the guys. i couldn't be happier with his performance this year (injury withstanding, which was on a hustle play). defense/offense/baserunning and what may be the most underrated tool - his clubhouse leadership.
a confident guy like desmond even said last year when werth stepped in during the first meeting in ST, the clubhouse attitude was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, just like that. he's almost like a manager/coach on the field out there. much love to j-dub.

Buy Travis Barker "Give The Drummer Some" : http://goo.gl/2hF8G
most true statement ever.
i want a sweep so bad, but a series win would be fantastic.
I know what's coming this series!
I'm not giving up on 100.
I'm uncharacteristically confident in this series.
Morse got a cortisone shot? I'm seeing at least 10 more HRs before the end of the regular season.
davey sounded worried today though. said the docs told them it can't get any worse, but he knows he's not 100% healthy.
wtf? baseball season is still going on?
Cortisone shots have never failed to restore players not just to full health, but to 120% of what they were before.
I agree 100%, Werth has been a great teammate and true leader for this young team.
