@USC_Athletics: Welcome Andy Enfield (@CoachEnfield) to the #TrojanFamily as the coach of @USC_Hoops. #DunkCityUSC
Is he going to start using his MD ties to steal our recruitz?

Big hires get their own threads
I don't think the MAAC is a selling point to the kids from Baltimore, but I bet it was to the NY and Jersey kids Patsos recruited.
I feel like the move to the Patriot League was about all the sports besides basketball and Patsos took that as an insult or lack of support. Loyola's lacrosse teams don't play in the MAAC now, but I'm pretty sure they will play in the Patriot. Jimmy should just become rivals with Bucknell and wait for a better job.
I feel like USC looks so desperate here. Before the tourney nobody had even heard of this Enfield character. Granted, apparently he has made a decent program down there in Fl in just two years but this hire seems like a fad flavor of the month type thing.
ugh I hate Enfield now. Until he makes USC fun to watch, at least.
That style is going to be wild of he can bring some 4 and 5 stars to USC. Should be a great selling point. "Hey just go out there and play. I want you to come in and play your game, push tempo, and have fun out there"
The Patriotl League in basketball is a step down from the MAAC. And agree it hurts recruiting as you aren't playing in NY/NJ as often (it kills recruiting in the NYC, NJ, Philly areas). I don't think the school consulting Jimmy at all on the move and he took offense to that. Also Jimmy has tried multiple times in recent years to get out of Loyola even at one point trying to join MD's staff as an assistant. Jimmy does a good job with PR but I don't think he gets along with the new AD very well.
Jimmy Patsos at a tiny Jesuit school just doesn't seem like a good fit. I'm surprised he's lasted this long.
USC hiring a coach who hasn't proven himself? That can't be right.
Jimmy Patsos moving on to Siena. Will be introduced tomorrow at 3:30.
I hear the Rutgers job might be open soon.
Is Gary getting bored?
Sheehan on TK says Patsos got the Siena job.
Could we please, for the love of everything that's holy, please stop mentioning Gary head coaching jobs that come up?
I wasn't being serious.
I actually think the Rutgers job is a good job that's even better now. They just made 5 or 6 bad hires in a row the last 20+ years. Get a good guy in there and they could be the leading program getting NJ talent (and whatever's left of the NYC which isn't much anymore).
LOL at Rutgers if they don't hire Hurley.
Actually I looked him up earlier: went 8-21 this year at Rhode Island. Though I don't recall, maybe that was a huge turnaround job.
I went to HS in NJ back when Rutgers went to a final four, though that was obviously a different environment (pre-BE, among other things). Still, I've never understood why they can't build a very solid, if not a perenially contending, team. The talent depth in state and nearby is huge: all the other big-time vultures can take their pick and there's still plenty left over if they just do a half-decent job. I think the excitement level in the state and on the campus would be off the charts. If they get someone who can just pull of one or two recruiting coups and put the right face on the program I think they could go somewhere. But picking and getting the right guy is always the issue.
Jeff Jones to ODU...wow.

Hurley was 38-23 at Wagner (25-5 in his second season). Rhode Island only won 7 games the previous season and lost 4 out of their top 5 scorers.

That's a case where both American and ODU lose.
It is the business walk of the biggest, baddest bear in the national park happening upon an abandoned picnic.
Will Spin be a candidate for the soon to be vacant Loyola job?
