Detroit Hustles Harder
well that Josh Smith dunk will be on SC top 10 tonight
This Heat's team record is hiding something...while they are a good team, this is nowhere near a championship quality team so far.
Can't blame it on lack of effort...I'm watching them try hard against the Knicks and they just are really, really bad defensively. The "small ball" stuff is just not going to work full time. They are completely incapable of protecting the rim and the rotations are awful. They kind of got lucky with the matchups last year in the playoffs and while I agree with them going small in crunch time, this isn't going to work with a lot of those matchups.
If you're broadcasting a game, tell it the way it really is, but keep your opinions to yourself...!
this whole second half has been a laugh riot (good kind)
Yeah, Michael Jordan would have lost these last two games!
Actually yes, you can blame it on lack of effort on the defensive end. They let up 60 points in the first half against the Wiz. They've been playing with fire all year against marginal/bad teams (like wiz and spurs B team) by just not caring for most of the game defensively. At times they expect their shooting to bail them out, which Ray Allen has done several times. As seen in this knicks game...the Heat are one of the worst teams at defending the 3 and last year was the same in the regular season. What happened is that they stepped it up in the playoffs. That's what happens when you have elite guys like Bron/Wade. You can CLEARLY see that DWade just doesnt give a shit on D right now.
Not sure how they got lucky in the playoffs with matchups... they played the Pacers and Knicks who had size at center (Hibbert and Chandler), Boston who had a ton of swag/grit, and OKC (no explanation necessary). You just trolling?
back to reality for knicks fans!
Just be a Stones fan Jay. Bandwagon space is filling up!
lol what happened there?
i think he didn't want humphries to shoot with everyone not set
At the end of Celtics ? Mavericks game, Dallas had on the floor, OJ Mayo, Derek Fisher, Nick Collinson, Vince Carter and Shawn Marion, thats is 4 guards and Marion at center. That is not small ball, it is midget ball, wtf?
OJ Mayo at this point is an all star.
When did Nick Collison go to the Mavs?
random rant, just went to see the schedule on espn for tonight...and it shows Knicks/Lakers with the normal starters stats underneath it. CAN WE PLEASE NOT INDULGE CRAZY PEOPLE! I don't care that he changed his name legally, his name is not World Peace.
I upvoted it. He got neither the first nor the last name right and confused these two people. Awesome.

Thats a rare cross racial mixup. That almost never happens. That would be like if someone called you Boom Bowser.
How did I get both names wrong? I meant Darren Collison who is from UCLA and traded from Pacers.; I was on way to bed, BFD
I would guarantee I know more about NBA than you do,
Because you spelled it Collinson. Just joshin ya dude don't get all butthurt.
The Lakers are not good. Which, considering they have one of the greatest players ever AND a perennial All Star big man, is pretty amazing. So many bad shots and AWFUL defense.
We should really just rename the thread the NY Knicks season thread since they basically are the lig now. Kind of unfair that they're padding their stats against scrub teams like the Lakers, hopefully Woodson is decent enough to pull the starters in the 4th.
i can't completely buy in and believe yet. the rate that these guys are hitting from 3 is pretty unreal
Novak, Smith, and Kidd are all capable of shooting at least 40% from 3. So it's probably not a fluke. Melo and Sheed can stroke it too.
Felton looks like he's lost a good 20-30 lbs.
So we'll fall back to earth and instead of being the best or second best nba team we'll merely be top five or six. I have no title aspirations, because I really don't think we can beat Miami in a seven game series, but this team is pretty clearly headed for a top two seed in the east. I would love to see an ECF game in the garden, outrageous ticket prices be damned.
As for our three point shooting, we are getting open looks for some very good three point shooters, so while we likely wont keep our current rate up, we should still be manageable.
Yeah, Kidd is drilling 52.7% of his 3's right now and Melo is hitting 45.5% (career 33%). It just seems like whenever one guy goes cold from 3 there is another dude that is on fire. JR Smith was hitting about 70% (no lie) early in the season and has since cooled off. Very interesting team though... Very Dukeish
