Harden's skills are much further ahead of his athleticism, how much better is he really going to get?
I get your point where usually guys skills have to catch their athleticism. But I think he will continue to improve. He's so damn skilled and when he imprves thoee skills hell be awesome. Either way he's very fun to watch. And young.
Harden isn't a #1 guy because he was bad in the finals last year?
How much better can you get than 26/6/5?
He's a #1 guy but not a #1 guy on a championship team.
How many "#1 guys on a championship team" do you think there are?
Currently? Lebron, Durant, Paul, Rose, Rondo and Melo with the right cast, and that's probably it at the moment. Dwight, Kobe and Dirk have fallen off in recent years.
Hardens really good but I think they are building for a constant 4-5 seed with him.
Rondo? Lol not even close
I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt since he was the best player on what ended up being the 2nd best team last year. I wouldn't really argue if you felt differently.
Lebron, Durant. That's it. As long as either of them is healthy and their team's management doesn't fuck up the roster, none of the other guys will have a chance.
Now, obisously, if you throw ALL the other guys together, like say, Paul, Melo and Dwight, they too should be championship contenders but that won't happen.
I'd argue against Rose before I'd argue against Rondo.
What a silly argument - LeBron and Durant are contenders because they have multiple All-Star level teammates. If you say those other guys could contend if they team up, SOMEBODY has to be the the best player on that contender.
Remember when the Thunder almost got Tyson Chandler but he failed his physical? I know they would have had to split it up because of money but their core could have been KD/Russ/Harden/Ibaka/Green/Chandler for at least a little bit. I'll also always contend they should have traded Russ straight up for CP3 when CP3 was available. CP3 would have re-signed there. I assume they weren't considering something like that because of how tight their core was. And maybe NO wouldn't have done it either because there was no guarantee they could keep Westbrook.
They weren't the 2nd best team last year. They were not better than the Thunder or Spurs. They probably weren't better than the Clippers either.
Rondo wasn't the best player either. KG was. The team had 3 or 4 all star caliber players, that's why they won, not because of Rondo
Rondo was better than kg. Garnett was very important but rondo was awesome. But he is the type that needs a really good supporting cast to make the team go.
Ps the spurs are still awesome with the ageless duncan. There are other teams that can become contenders without the top 3-4. But the heat/thunder are built to dominate over the next 6+ years
Wade is day-to-day. Looks like Lebron has to do it by himself just like last year

That's reasonable, with Westbrook out they can split the difference. They will still bowl through everyone.
That's just silly.
KG was the better player. He was the best defensive player in the league last year and averaged 19/10 in the playoffs. His value isn't tied in the boxscore. It's tied in the stuff outside of the box score like being a top 3 defender each year since 2008. KG is still one of the best 20-25 players in the league. If Rondo was so good, why did the Celtics have a better record without him this year than they did with him? They were over .500 without him and under .500 with him. Whenever Rondo has missed games the past 3 years, they never really missed him.
And saying that Rondo is better than Rose is absurd. We see Rose's impact by looking at how much the Bulls fell without him. With him they were the #1 seed 2 years in a row. They were 32-7 with him last year, but fell in the 1st round without him. Without him this year they had a negative SRS. Rose is not an MVP caliber player but he is on another level compared to Rondo.
guess there's going to be a game 5
Refs taking over
When the Knicks' offense is clicking, it's awesome to watch. When it turn in to Melo one-on-one backing down for 5 seconds followed by a foul/contested fallaway, it's awful.
i'd be furious right now if it wasn't 3-0 knicks
Does Carmelo know this is a playoff game?
even though this game probably means nothing, what's happened so far is why i've been doubting so much
