L O FREAKING L.
So you get all pissy at me for saying Harper needs more time, and then you come into this thread and start lecturing people about Manny Machado?
At least you used a different alias.
What are you talking about? I've always been on record saying that Harper was rushed. He should have stayed in AAA and I still think he should go back once Zim comes back from the DL.
A-Rod had a 40/40 season in the majors at 19???? wtf
Not nearly enough "I'm from Baltimore, please look at me!!!!" threads on this board. Will be interesting to see if certain posters get thrown off the Red Loft on the 18th.
Detroit Hustles Harder
Yeah by my math he turned 23 during that season.
When AROD was Machado's age he didn't have 40 hits in the majors. He won his first MVP at 27. We can make up stats though.
it's a maryland message board
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
Doesn't matter, their LF were hitting .150 and THIS IS THE NATS YEAR TO WIN IT ALL BABY
Ok, he won a batting title at age 20, just 1 year older than Machado. But he did hit .360 at the age of 19 and was a beast as early as age 18 when he already made the big leagues.
I wouldn't look at that that way. Harper is the guy you know you should run over late at night on a dark road and nobody will find out about it. Machado has yet to prove he's that guy or not.
he was on steroids
-The Based Lord, F*** wit me.
Some franchises are proactive with their young players. Once again, I bring up the Porcello example. Nothing wrong with giving the kid a taste of the show, especially since it clearly won't affect his psyche. If he helps the team win games while the big bats get healthy, then it's a bonus for the Nats/misery for the tiny penis brigade.
Porcello sucks. What is he an example of? Was he rushed of something?
yea he was in the bigs at 19. that didn't stunt his growth at all.
Pic Sigs are for losers.
Yeah Porcello sucks, and was rushed badly. I dont think anybody wants one of their young pitchers becoming Rick Porcello. Smart organization those Tigers are. Told a kid who threw mid 90s in high school to become a sinkerballer.
If this were the case the minor leagues wouldn't exist.
If Dylan Bundy became Rick Porcello, I think I'd start cutting myself
Sucked so bad that he was tabbed to pitch in this game. Didn't fare too badly out there, should have pushed more across for him. Some kids are special enough that calling them up wouldn't hurt them. Some require more time. Nobody in the organization thinks that stashing him in Erie or Toledo would have served the team well.
You should start now, save everyone else the trouble.
detroitterp a coltsfan alias?
who cares about 2009. He hasn't developed into what he should be A Star. in fact he sucks now. So trading one year for a career is a good trade off IMO.
LOL at Porcello being "special". He's an overhyped Jeremy Guthrie, and I think that is a compliment for him
