Schools that have never made the NCAA Tournament — the 2014 edition http://wp.me/plDgR-1WQ
So I'm in an MLB run pool this year with 30 participants, each being randomly assigned one team. There's two parts, a daily 13-run pool and the bingo pool. Entry fee is $125.
Daily 13-run pool rules are basic- everybody gets an MLB team for a month, starts at $15 and if no team scores exactly 13 runs, $15 is added to the pot the next day until a team wins and then that person gets the entire pot, split if there are multiple 13-run teams on a given day.
Bingo pool- Each player gets a team for the entire season, your April team from the daily 13-run pool. Each player has a card numbered 0-13 and when your team scores that many runs, the box gets checked. First person to have all fourteen boxes wins the pot, just over $1000 (split if two finish their card on the same day).
73.2% goes into the daily 13-run pool, 26.8% gos into the bingo pool.
My April team and the team I get for the entire year for the bingo pool? The Houston Astros.
Nine games in, I have three boxes checked. Three 0s, 3 threes, 2 eights(!) and one 14+ (they scored 16!)
Basically this is just an entire "LOL @ JDawg" pool
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
This is giving me nightmares of Pooh's HR Derby
Meanwhile, RaiseHigh has only paired up once with the Rockies.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Greinke's collarbone fractured when Quentin charged the mound. I'm really interested to see his suspension now.
That was the third time Grienke has hit Quentin in 20 at bats. I don't blame him for getting pissed.
There is no way it was intentional, not in that situation in the game.
Quentin is a fucking idiot if he thinks he can justify charging the mound in the instance. Take your base you POS. Interesting argument from Mattingly that he shouldn't play until Grienke pitches
That argument will never work.
It won't work, but what's the O/U for charging the mound and hitting him so hard he breaks his collarbone? 10 games? 15 games?
Players just ran out of Dodgers clubhouse...appears Matt Kemp and Carlos Quentin went after it in players parking lot
Don't even really know what happened.
Quentin gets hit ALL the time.
I hope the league comes down especially hard on Quentin. A pitcher is so much more at risk when the batter charges the mound.
And LOL at Jerry Hairston Jr. for trying to start another fight. You ain't exactly MMA material, Jerry, but congrats on still collecting a paycheck with your middling talent.

So the $15/day comes from the entry fee, not extra money being added?

Full count in a 2-1 game?? Yeah, I'm sure he was throwing at him.
The amusing thing is that now Quentin figures to get hit many more times this season since its clearly in his head. Pitchers won't hesitate to come in since he won't charge the mound again - possibly ever - as he would get a big suspension for doing so

Right. There's 183 game days on the season I guess so that's how the math works out with a $125 entry fee- $15/day for the 13-run pool and $1005 for the bingo pool.
yeah, I have 11 boxes left. The 2nd-worst team has 9 boxes left. The guy leading right now has 5 boxes left.
Those were all before last night's games.
Quentin is such a punk. Unfortunate situation and Greinke got the brunt of it. Curious as to what he said after thr pitched that provoked Quentin to charge.
Heard on the radio that Greinke shrugged when Quentin glared at him and said something like "Well, let's do this."
He wasn't even hit solid, the ball just grazed his padded elbow/forearm area. It wasn't near his head and was very clearly not intentional when you consider the circumstances. I don't blame Kemp for going postal, I only wish he would've gotten some solid licks in on that dipshit.
It looked like a smirk to me. Didn't rewind QP this morning to get another look at it though.
