Between being an Ohio boy and the Francona link, that would make more sense. How much for 2 from Cleve?
16-18 mil is the reported offer from cleveland
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
lol @ youkilis getting that much. that guy isn't worth anything.
Can't believe they gave up Revere and Span, but what can ya do with that offer
Detroit Hustles Harder
Revere sucks. Cant wait for BWES' reaction. Guy has the worst power of any player, doesnt draw walks either. He's a 4th OFer in reality.
As a Yankees fan, seeing Youk in NY would make me want to vomit. And I'm far more rational than most Yankees fans.
Things could get ugly in NY if Youk passes on them.
Youk is still pretty good.
declining in a lot of numbers ... not worth that much money. let the yanks overspend for him. or the indians to covet him so much for them to give him a multi-year deal.
glad the o's are staying away.
Mariners making a decent push at Hamilton. 3 years, 20-25 per year. Should be interesting to see where this goes.

The Yankees with be without the left side of the infield to start the season..isn't Youk their last shot at anybody decent?
wow. what a dream off season this is going to be.
Michael Young (probably) and Ben Revere! SUCK IT NATS! WE ARE BACK!!!!!!!

I wish Rube would take a shot at Youk!
Baseball is such a joke. Washed-up has-beens are being offered money that rivals what the top hockey, basketball and non-QB football players are making. It's only going to get so much worse with the big market TV deals like the Dodgers new deal kicking in.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Also, the Yanks can't "overpay" for anything.
If Youk signs with them, they have $41 million tied into 3B just this year. That's fucking absurd.

Chipper seems to be enjoying retirement. In more ways than one.
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
chipper needs a good tailor
there is no way hockey and basketball generate as much money for owners as baseball does (not including TV revenues).
After removing my focus from his date, my thoughts as well. Looks like the first suit the guy has ever owned.
Average NFL Team Value is $1.1 Billion.
Average MLB Team Value is $475 Million.
Average NBA Team Value is $379-$425 Million.
Average NHL Team is $282 Million.
(Note: I have no idea if that answers how much money is generated, I suppose.) However, that still doesn't answer why washed-up has-beens like Youk are getting paid more than basically every non-Top 10 NFL Player.
The new CBA would push up the value of the average NBA team to roughly $425 million.
Team values continue their upward surge because of record attendance, new stadiums and rich cable deals.
he's the worst human being in the world.
Those leagues have salary caps, that's part of your answer. MLB also has half the roster of an NFL franchise.
And I wouldn't call a guy who put up a .745 OPS at 3B last year a has been.

Tigers reportedly in the market for hanrahan. Do they have a exciting, young dynamic starter the pirates could ask for in return?
Give up Verlander instead.
