under different circumstances, i think anthony grant would have been the coach here
From the comments section of the Raleigh paper. The 3rd paragraph is the greatest:
I have to feel for the seniors - Wood and Howell. They brought it EVERY TIME! Pitiful way to end to their college careers.
Thank you guys, again and again. It was a total joy to watch you play because you gave it 100%. And you were "danged" good! I never had the feeling that you were distracted by your possible pro careers while you played, unlike one or two of your teammates.
Did i say Thank You? If not, i say it again. You're GREAT. Will NEVER forget your GREAT playing and effort. LOVE you!! May you go forth and be fruitful! May you have at least one beautiful wife and have numerous beautiful children who think you are the greatest dads on earth.
Thank you SO much for coming to Raleigh! Don't be a stranger. I will pull for you WHEREVER you go from here.
Some posters on CrackRide are finally turning on Yow. It's delicious.
It's got to crush them to admit the "yankees" were right about her. They've probably on the verge of digging Kay's body up and burning it.
Anthony Grant is a very good coach ...way better than both amaker and alford and probably on par with Turgeon. I think we'd have been fine if we had gotten Grant.

RE: N&O: Lewis and Purvis to transfer?
I'll be pleasantly surprised if we have both of them back next season
I don't think either are very good coaches.
"Turgeon has 3 key guys on current roster - Allen, Dez, and Jake - that have not improved." -Orioleterp
The beauty of NC State fans is that they aren't just stupid - they're resiliently stupid! They'll pump themselves up so much, then fail miserably, but then they have the ability to recover the stupid extremely quickly and start right back up again.
Would they have any players on the team next year?
Remember, the roster currently looks like this if Leslie and Lo Brown leave:
Jordan Vandenberg, Center, RS Senior (0.7 ppg, 0.7 rpg)
T.J. Warren, Forward, Sophomore (12.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg)
Rodney Purvis, Guard, Sophomore (8.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg)
Tyler Lewis, Point Guard, Sophomore (3.6 ppg, fewer assists than CJ Leslie or Richard Howell)
Anthony "Cat" Barber, Point Guard, Freshman
[#6 PG, Hampton, VA; Hampton High School; 6'2'', 165 pounds, #23 overall recruit according to ESPN; undersized, plays no defense]
BeeJay Anya, Center, Freshman
[#8 Center, Germantown, MD; DeMatha Catholic High School; 6'9'', 275 pounds, #69 overall recruit according to ESPN; out-of-shape, not elite scorer]
Kyle Washington, PF, Freshman
[#22 PF, Champlin, MN; Brewster Academy; 6'9'', 215 pounds, #83 overall recruit according to ESPN; going to N.C. State, so clear issues]
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
We just need one of Lewis or Purvis to transfer, or T.J. Warren to leave for the Draft, so that they're scouring the JUCO ranks for some turds.
Whistling past the graveyard is definitely more prevalent in the south. The frustrating part of it though, is they're too dumb to realize they're dumb.
I knew there had to be someone else, they are also adding this LSU transfer next year. I'm sure hell be just as good as Scott Wood!

"I like fixing broken things" - Kevin Plank
I'm pretty much going to spend my Saturday digging up old NC State predictions in October and November from those clowns.
His fg% on 2-pointers is just as bad as his 3 point fg%

Pretty good fans!

"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Oh God. How did I miss this early?
Nate Silver has his predictions up. State has a 0.7% chance to win the whole thing!!! He gives a 13.8% chance to make the Sweet 16.
1. Who is Nate Silver?
2. What is his credibility?
3. Why aren't all the #1 seeds 100% chance to make the round of 32, considering a #1 seed has never lost to a #16 seed.
If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?
"In two short years, we have quickly gone from happy to make the NCAA to sweet sixteen or its a disappointment. I'm not ready to fire Yow, fire Coach Gott or anyone at this point. AD Yow may actually be difficult to work for because she holds coaches accountable and is obviously not afraid to rattle cages. She has been a huge improvement over Fowlup. Gott may not be John Wooden, but he's the best we've had since Valvano, IMO.
Yesterday was a huge disappointment but we had a good year and beat our closest rivals. Next year is a transition year for Gott and will reveal where the program is headed. We will have 4, maybe 5 burger boys on our team. When was the last time that happened? For now, the program is on solid ground and better than we've been on in 30 years.
Thanks AD Yow and Coach Gott!"
I have no words. Good God.
And viper thinks we're more delusional than NCST fans
Which one of you is this?
Man If Zo and CJL return I could easily see us pre-season ranked around 5 or 6 in the country
To be fair half the OWG's on the board weren't able to answer 1 and 2 as late as 5 months ago.
