Up by 20 at duke. then duke goes on a 35-10 run and wins. they are blaming the refs (they are probably right). but still it takes more than refs to blow a 20 point lead I'd think.
im hearing pg plaza is the spot!
That makes my night. I just wish I had seen it.
they were up 20 with 11 mins to go and lost (with substantial help from the zebras)
Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the officiating at Cameron was a factor in Duke rallying from 20 down in the last 6 minutes or whatever, but still, lol @ State.
The sadness I feel over not getting to watch that disaster overshadows the win over BC for me...I'm off to Pack Pride, by the way. Anyone want to come with?
State was in the bonus with 14:53 left in the 2nd half...
This is why you never fear NC State recruits.
They have severe mental, emotional, and/or psychological problems to commit there in the first place
When they showed the halftime score, I got so mad and wanted to fight every Maryland fan who was cheering. I can't even explain how much more I hate NC State than Duke.
Pack Pride is so vunerable right now.

Ohhhhh yeah I just realized the replay is available on ESPN3!
I think I just might watch the entire second half.
There is no way you can get into the SEC when you are totally incompetent at football except when you are playing Rangoon and the boys.
i liked it when the cameras scanned the nc state section behind the bench. at first there was smiling and laughing. then they turned to more serious faces like "okay, stop effing around and finish this out" and then it was the angry and yelling people, and a few that looked like zombies. yay!
And then fouls were 10-4 in favor of Duke the rest of the way.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
I watched this because I had some other obligations, then watched Terps after. NC State got absolutely whored by the refs. I'm sure NOD will cite foul #s, but the uncalled over the backs on every rebound, uncalled bodies, etc. were ridiculous on the level that we've seen before.
That said, still LOL NC State.
oh my god. HAHAHA
They didn't attack the rim despite that advantage. Like, at all.
Once they were in the bonus, 17 of their remaining 22 shots thereafter were jumpers.
Smart teams use the bonus to their advantage.
And then there's NC State.
What a complete joke if people are claiming a Duke ref game. I just watched the game from when it was a 20 point lead. Duke gets a TON of help from the refs. You'd have to be a moron to not acknowledge that. But not in this game. That was just NC State being NC State.
Watched the game and didn't see anything especially unfair.
I was in Glory Days last night and across the bar from me was Duke fan (never set foot in NC) and his huge GF. I was watching the MD game and this guy starts getting real loud early. In the first half, #15 from Duke completely slid under a guy from State and drew a charge, and they guy starts going nuts. (Even by Duke standards, it was one of the worst drawn charges ever, Battier/Paulus level bad call.) Short time later Duke gets called for a charge and the guy goes absolutely apeshit, the bartender told him to calm down, and then started giving him crap about Duke actually getting called for a charge. MD is on their run, Stogs is on fire, so the guy and I start going at it from across the bar. I left at the half, and walked over to him and said "don't worry you know the refs will win this one for you" and tells me to get the F out and gets and starts following me out. His GF comes running over and grabs him and pulls him back to his bar stool. I was LOL as I walked out the door.
LOL at the majority of Pack Pride blaming the refs for this game. They blew a 20 point lead in the second half and had triple the amount of turnovers that Dook ha.
Smart teams like Duke take 30 3 pointers a game and still have the foul advantage
You are so dumb I would literally kill myself before seeking medical attention from you. I love the "hey I'm Coach K, they can't call every handcheck" defense. NC State gagged this away but let's not act like they didn't have some help.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Yes, yes, yes. GOD that makes me mad. While I hate them, my life does not change if Duke wins, whereas NC State being good represents a fundamental imbalance in the universe and must be prevented at all costs.
No team can attack the rim late with a lead against Duke because if you do you will inevitably be called for an offensive foul!! Saying NC State didn't attack the basket is like saying they didn't punch themselves in the nuts.
Refs have always assumed with Duke that their players are "smarter" than the opposition and that every Duke position is the smarter more disciplined one etc.
If I am coaching a team with a lead at Cameron the last thing I would ever tell them to do was attack the basket. You are just asking for a charge call on every single play. All you can do is take jumpers and hope they go in.

At the risk of sounding unpopular, the refs did a pretty good job last night of not buying Duke's flopping. There were several blocks/no-calls in the game that I thought to myself could have easily been charges in some other games in Cameron. The calls that I felt the refs missed were more of the over-the-back/hand-checking variety.
I do think State settled for bad jump shots way too early in the shot clock late in the game, and that they really should have gone at the basket more, given how the game was being called last night. If you're going to take a bad jump shot, do it with 3 seconds left on the shot clock instead of 23. That also made it much harder for State to exploit its advantages on the boards.
