Congrats to all Ravens fans, bandwagon Ravens fans, etc. Glad to see the AFC Championship stay in the division. Now we get inundated with the Harbaughs and their old man for two weeks..ugh..Oh well,it could be worse(listening to the media fellate Brady and Belichick).
Anyhow..great season and very happy for Joe Flacco and the Ravens/Terps fans on these boards.
You're not a real Steelers fan.
Real Stillers fans would beat you into a bloody mess.
Maryland fan: Oh, I'm so happy Duke won the Championship! It stayed in the ACC!
Yankees fan: Oh, Red Sox, you're so awesome! Yay AL East!

Lighten up my man, There are only two teams left. Have to pull for somebody to win at this juncture.
You haven't felt the wrath of Tortugue. May Allah be with you and your family.
Yes, and in your case, that should be the 49ers, if for no other reason than pure spite.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
Nah..spite gets old with age. I like Flacco and want to see him get a ring.
If the Ravens win the Super Bowl I will, after hours of bitter tears, congratulate them. But now is not the time for surrender.
Pittsburgh may care more about being the only team with six titles vs the ravens winning.

And as a Steelers fan, that somebody will be the 49ers. I'm not ready to believe that God loves Ray Lewis the same as Jerome Bettis.

I've been rooting for the Ravens all playoffs. Why? I like parties and getting drunk and will be parking my ass at a bar in Fed Hill at like noon for Super Bowl Sunday. Picked a good weekend to move.
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
THIS is the only reason any Eels fan will be rooting for us in the Har Bowl. Not an excuse, naturally, but it'll be the reason.
A former NFL halfback, from Detroit.
what? spite is the only thing that keeps me going as a fan of certain teams sometimes
You do? I thought only little kids and women had to pick a team to "root for" in any given game.
Well that and gambling
But that's not really "rooting" for a team. You're basically rooting for an outcome. You can win in the majority of cases without the team you're "rooting" for actually winning the game.
Just need some OWG Ravens/Colts fan to chime in with a "classy post" so that they can then both daydream about maybe meeting their new internet friend for a beer to regale each other with stories about Lambert and Unitas.
"My wife's been telling me I need to get out of the house!"
"Me, too, partner!"
This is actually a lot closer to my life than I care to admit.
This response annoyed me
Not if you bet the ML.
You seem like a grumpy person. Whether or not it's your cup of tea, I don't care, but plenty of people (yes, men, too) get more enjoyment out of a sporting event when they have a rooting interest.
Pretty stupid that he'd be considered less of a fan because he likes who Joe Flacco is on the football field.
I really need to get up on these rules for what makes a superfan. Between my tolerance for rushing the court and condoning a Steelers rooting for a Ravens victory, I'm starting to wonder if I'm even a real fan at all.
This is why I bet on sports. I don't want to just not give a fuck about the super bowl, or the final four, or the world series. Sometimes I will get caught up with other teams and want them to win even if they aren't MY team but sometimes I won't for whatever reason. Gambling helps to fix that.
