Will Rodgers hold out this offseason or next for a new deal, considering Flacco's fat stacks?
2013: $9,750,000 total cap hit
2014: $11,000,000 total cap hit
2015: Unrestricted Free Agent
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
I thought this was expected? Is this a surprise?
What would the franchise tag have been for this year?
Really don't understand why anyone thinks the Ravens could've done better.
Franchise tag would have been a little over 19m I believe

Flacco will be worth the money if they find a long term solution at left tackle. His confidence is no longer an issue, just keep him upright, give him decent weapons and the rest should take care of itself.
This is just Raise's worst attempt at trolling Ravens fans in his posting career. Pretty remarkable considering his past efforts.
No. This is jtp's doing. He's kept me around for his bizarre HOF resume.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Joe Flacco will average $20.1M/yr in record deal, slightly more than Brees. Will make $62M over 1st 3 yrs, $1M more. 2013 cap #? Just $7M...
2013 cap number will be 7mil
Merely pointing out a large contract in the NFL.
On a completely serious note, I think this is why people assume it is a lot of money -- What would Flacco have got in terms of years/salary if Rahim Moore was an average safety and the Ravens lost in the second round? Would it have still been around the same or did it go up a lot? I think the perception is that he would have got much less, but that may not be reality as I certainly don't understand the intricacies of franchise tags, etc.

"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Sometimes it's the journey sometimes it's the result sometimes it's a combination sometimes I drink Sprite
Can't believe you would betray 7up like that.
"Now, Baltimore Ravens: It’s 2008. gonna sell you a quarterback for $120 million, more money than any qb in NFL history! You’re going to go to the playoffs every single year for his first 5 years in the league…and win at least one game each time. You’re going to win the division twice; you’re going to sweep your 8 home games and the AFC North for the first time ever during one of those seasons; you’re going to finally beat the colts in the playoffs; you’re going to finally beat peyton manning in the playoffs; you’re going to finally beat tom brady in the playoffs; you’re going to go to 3 AFC Championships in those 5 years (and he’ll play well enough to win two of them); he’ll lead game-winning drives IN PITTSBURGH at Heinz Field two seasons in a row; he’ll lead you to your best start in franchise history of 9-2 while the defense falls apart b/c of injuries; he’ll be a super bowl MVP while throwing 11 TDs & 0 INTs in that playoff run; he’ll be arguably the best deep-ball thrower in the league. . . . . . .but occasionally he’ll be inconsistent with his completion percentage. Do you want him or not?”
7 mil cap hit this year makes it a great deal

if my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle...and it still wouldn't stop Big Ben from trying to rape her.
Yeah man that's pretty awesome.
Please stop the Rahim Moore BS. If we are going to do that at least be consistent and talk to the 2 Special Teams TDs that we gave up when we gave up maybe one all year. Whole different game.
Damn Flacco!!!!! He should have tackled the Denver player from the sidelines and not waited to the last play of the Super Bowl.
The Rahim Moore point is dumb because part of the reason he got beat was the pass Flacco made. Tell me how many QBs in this league could make that type of throw. According to Jaws, not many.
In a single elimination playoffs, "fluke" things tend to even out over time. The year before if Lee Evans doesn't inexplicably drop a pass or Cundiff doesn't choke, maybe they win that year. If Nick Harper wasn't stabbed by his wife, maybe the Steelers don't win in 2005. But maybe they win in 2001 or 2004 if not for spygate.
the Giants did this with eli after his first SB, and people said the same crap. then he won another, ravens got their man....who gives a crap.
I'm trying to ask an honest question (Ie: not a troll attempt) there, because I'm genuinely curious how much his value went up by them winning the Super Bowl rather than losing in the second round. What was his value at for a future contract prior to that game?
Yep, let's all LOL at the Ravens! Just another in a long line of moves worthy of mock and ridicule! Come on, everybody!
I think the point is that there's maybe 5 quarterbacks in the league that can make that throw off balance that accurate and that far. So whether or not Moore could've made the play is irrelevant
No one is disputing Flacco as one of the best down-the-field QBs, so that doesn't have much to do with this.
That's the nature of the NFL. Not much separates top teams. What if Lee Evans catches the ball in last year's AFCCG? You can always play that game. He was going to get paid a lot and turned down 5/$80MM before the season. It's a perfectly fair market value contract and only $7MM against he cap this year is awesome.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
BS. you weren't doing anything close to trying to ask a serious question. You were attempting to troll by insinuating that Moore was the reason that Flacco "lucked" into the next few games.
It's not even worth discussion...if you want to guess say 20 million...there...dumb hogiethetical answered.
