Less than 50 days to go, so I thought we should get started.
Euro 2008, if you remember, was one of the most captivating tournaments (in any sport) in recent history. There was some amazing matches and IMO Turkey had possibly the craziest series of matches you can imagine. Some parallels with our 2004 ACCT.
After losing their first game, they) beat the swiss in injury time (92nd minute) and beat the czechs from 0-2 down (with 2 goals in the last 5 minutes). In the QF, they went a goal down in the 119th minute, but equalized in the 122nd and won on penalties. In the SF, they equalized in the 86th minute, only for Germany to score the winner in the 90th.

Any early guesses as to who will be this tourney's Andrei Arshavin? (i.e. some who is lights out in tourney, terribly inflates value, gets signed by huge club, then FLOPCITY)
I would say Samir Nasri, but he already did this last season in the EPL. Maybe Loic Remy.

So, who are you guys pulling for in Euro 2012?
I'm going, in order (due to percent ethnicity):
3. That's all I got.
This will be the last Euros before they start with the watered down version in 2016...
But I like watching a bunch of the teams so it really doesn't matter much to me. Just want some awesome games.
Ditto. Germany and Ireland.
Arshavin would've went to a large club anyway due to performances at Zenit.
Hopefully, this tourney will be more like Euro 2008 and WC 2010 and not like the awful international tournaments from WC 2002 - WC 2006.
Arshavin had some great moments at Arsenal, so I wouldn't consider him a major flop. Was never really put in the position to succeed once Arsenal went to the 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 last year.
I think the English team dynamics are incredibly interesting - Gerrard and Lampard on the field together has never been a recipe for success, so it will be interesting to see who they ultimately trot out.
Thats my list.
Sucks Wilshere got hurt. Gerrard, Wilshere, and Parker probably would have probably been the 3.
I want to see the Spanish and Dutch keep pooping on everyone. Though the Krauts are really fun to watch.
Basically just rooting for England to fail miserably and whatever else is cool.
I'm gonna stick with Russian club players and take Aiden McGeady to have a silly tourney and make an absurd amount of money while underachieving somewhere in England next year.
Is this thing actually televised? Fox Soccer Channel, ESPN3, or any asshole foreign station I don't get don't count as television.
pretty sure espn will cover it all
I just ordered one of these so that's who i'll be pulling for.
I have a couple Greek friends so i'll pull for them as well.
I'm in love with those jerseys
Being an American mutt, there are three teams I could claim due to my ancestry.
I'll go in a different direction and want to see the Dutch win it. Wanted them to take the World Cup the last time and have been a fan of the Oranje since Bergkamp.
ESPN is covering it. You can see the full TV schedule at the bottom of this page.
I started liking the Dutch when I first saw them play in the 98 World Cup with such class players: Bergkamp, Overmars, Kluivert, Van Der Sar, Davids, Seedorf, Cocu, De Boers brothers. What a roster that was!
My ancestry gives me Germany, England, and Russia as rooting interests. I usually go with the Germans after team USA in international competitions.
or this (home):
I've lived in Germany, England, and Poland. However, I dislike enough of England's players that it's going to be really hard to root for them. So, I'll probably root for Poland, with Germany as my realistic favorite once Poland gets knocked out.

This is really what everyone should be hoping for
LOVE THOSE JERSEYS- one of the main reasons I'm pulling for the Dutch
Ethnicity wise, I should be rooting for the Germans. But since there was this thing called the Holocaust, where they murdered 1/3 of my family, instead it will be ABG- Anybody but Germany
