no doubt it is going to be amazing...and for the younger generation even more so.
it still doesnt feel real...probably in part because now that i live out of the area i dont get the day to day exposure.
I was in Gillette last January. That is all.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I WANNA RUN THROUGH A BRICK WALL FOR RGIII!!!!!!!!!!!!
It quarterback has become just that.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
Just the thought of this makes me want to throw my computer out the window.
If things go poorly on Sunday I'll definitely begin an awkward loner phase.
Yeah see that was devastating but at least more or less the outcome was never in doubt throughout the game. That's what made the aforementioned Colts/Ravens game so much worse. And of course the fat fuck MSU game, though I wasn't there in person so it doesn't count.
I can't even imagine a scenario where the Ravens/Steelers game would be a Week 17 win or go home scenario. It'd be scary to even be in the stadium. I'm actually excited for Redskin fans this week. Savor this because honestly it isn't something that happens often (and I'm not talking about the Redskins ability to make the playoffs, either!).
This is pretty much the worst week ever. I am dreading Sunday so much. The D.C. fandom in me just won't let me be optimistic until some team steps up and changes it. Winning this game would be a big step toward believing again.
However, if the Bears and Vikings lose early in the day, I will probably go from unbearable nervous wreck to super pumped.
I can't remember a regular-season game in my life as a fan that had so much on the line. A loss will be the most devastating non-postseason loss ever (unless we get a WC), and a win will easily be the greatest non postseason-win of all-time. Such an extreme emotional swing.
The only losses of my life that will be worse than this would be:
- Redskins-49ers '92 (Brian Mitchell fumble)
- Redskins-Bucs '99 (Dan Turk)
- Terps-St. John's '99
- Duke Final Four
- MSU dagger, 2010 version
Bobby G. won his debut game, his Thanksgiving debut game, his Monday Night Football debut game...why not his Sunday Night Football debut game?
UGW, I believe it was Socrates who had some words of encouragement for us as we think of this Sunday.
In Plato's Gorgias, he's quoted as saying:
"It has to start somewhere, it had to start sometime...
What better place than here, what better time than now?"
Then there was something else, but I forget.
How can a Nats fan possibly leave off Game 5? If the O's/Yanks went down that way I would still be in a corner crying.
That's easy. It can't be that heartbreaking if you've only been a fan for like 90 days.
Part of me thinks that the Lions will roll over on Sunday as per usual. An even smaller part of me thinks we get revenge for Paul Edinger's 54 yard field goal that knocked us out of playoff contention in 2000. So who knows.
Detroit Hustles Harder
This is Bobby Three Sticks. Never doubt this man.
We got this.
This game is literally the only thing I think about these days
It's really no big deal if Griffin loses. DC SPOOORTZ will go balls deep in him and he'll just be broken forevermore like Ovechkin.
NO BIG DEAL
I'm just imagining him galloping 43 yards through a light snow for a back-breaking TD as FedEx rattles and hums like some crazed hornets' nest and Al Michaels goes nuts.
the bad news for redskins fans is that if there is one thing Tony Romo is known for it's being clutch.
I hope we see RG3 sitting on the bench to start the 4th quarter.
With our secondary, that means we are up what? 50?
you didn't mention Nats.
But I think the Skins blow 'em out.
the wake blowout in 2006 was the most awful event i've ever attended. we didn't even show up to play. i'd rather have it be close and have them leave everything on the field.
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
stole it for my facebook. HOF pic, good work ugw.
that was an awful night.
also the FSU blowout at blackout byrd was miserable too. Good Counsel got rocked by DeMatha that same night ... it was an awful day for my football teams.
