Closest modern day comparison I can think of is 1986 David Robinson when he was at Navy. Without David Robinson they probably would've been a mid-level CAA team. With David Robinson, they finished 27-4 in the regular season (final regular season AP ranking #17), went 13-1 in the CAA, were a #7 seed in the NCAA tournament, and went to the Elite Eight where they lost to Duke (who was the #1 ranked team at the time).
If David Robinson could have that kind of success with that type of team there's a good chance Lebron could've done the same...
Durant scores more in college then freshmen Lebron. Better shooter, shorter 3 point line. Lebron dominates more on the boards and if he is on a good team averages 8+ assists.
College Durant average 11 rebounds on the season and 12.5 rebounds in Big 12 play. Lebron could probably do closer to 15 boards especially at a mid-major
