Only guy I liked was Al McGuire
You must have watched the Terps' national championship game with the sound off. Packer spent most of the 40-minute game just trashing Blake. He was a nightmare.

That's because Marv is the greatest basketball PBP man in history and Kerr is also very good.
Also I'm sorry but Len Elmore's voice bothers me.
I think I asked you this last year, but what was Kellogg like when he visited you guys that made him so bad?
So, what happened to Gus? Did he say eff you CBS- I need more cash?
Yup. Left for Fox two years ago due to a contract dispute.

I love Gus but the loss is doubled as he is AWFUL at calling fox's soccer games.
Listen in Spanish/mute awful.
Gus has been fine in his soccer broadcasts, especially given his lack of experience with the sport. I'm not worried about him at all going forward, and I was nervous when I first learned he was going to be doing soccer games.
Espn's game coverage is fine, where they suck the life out of you is everything else.
you should be sorry.
Len & Reggie are awesome!
The other guy who drives me nuts this year is Gottlieb. He is really annoying and seems to be constantly searching for some way to make himself stand out and be noticed. His desperation is exhausting when I am just trying to watch a game
Raftery and Gus Johnson should be sitting in a big room with many monitors and calling every single game. If I was president.
Hating on Len Elmore is sacrilegious and you are a horrible person and an even worse basketball fan and you should die in a kitchen fire
Detroit Hustles Harder
Let's not get carried away.
Why? Elmore is not that good of an announcer
"I like fixing broken things" - Kevin Plank
Ian Eagle is the best in the game by far. He's a pleasure to listen to, each and every game.
To be fair, Blake had a pretty bad championship game.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
I actually enjoy Gottlieb in pretty much all formats, but I do think he's still adjusting to being a color analyst. I think he only did that for a year or two (if that?) at ESPN before he left for CBS? Mostly he was in studio.
But I like that he isn't afraid to call out the officials, and I feel like he has some insights that are somewhat fresh from time to time.
Also agree. He has the common sense to talk about how ridiculous the flagrant foul rule is, and how going to the monitor takes forever and ruins the flow of the game.
I'm a big fan, and think he's gotten a lot better. Plus when we met him down at the PR shootout last year, he was a real nice guy.
I would have paid to see Gottlieb have the call at the end of OSU/ISU yesterday.
I like Gottlieb because he bought me a bunch of free stuff in 1995.
I thought Packer was excellent. You actually occasionally learned something about basketball listening to him. Most games now, they've dumbed it down to the point where you want to yell at the screen a couple times a game because you - sitting at home - know what's going on better than they do.
I also don't think Packer was as negative as people think. I think if you're used to hearing Vitale all the time, someone neutral and factual seems negative. I wish we had more announcers that add to the broadcast, rather than just trying to add energy when something happens. A few like Gus add something to big moments, but the rest try too hard to be cute. I'd rather have good analysis as the game goes on and let the big moments speak for themselves. Save the cute comments for the highlights.
And Vitale got old 15 years ago. He's been a cheerleader since the beginning, and has never really added much other than emotion. He was great for college hoops, and made a significant contribution to its popularity, but he's only ever been a cheerleader. I suppose he has earned the right to retire on his own terms, but I won't be upset when he retires.
Plus, you knew it wasn't an agenda thing because Packer spent basically the entire OH HE STEAL game sucking Steve off for destroying Duke.
NYCTerp05: i guarantee you my child won't turn out gay
It really does make it so much more painful that CBS does have a number of good teams available, yet insist on making Nantz/Kellogg their #1.
