People remember Knuble like some kind of folk hero. He is over the hill now. He's a shell of his former self. He's just not that good.
He's definitely not that good, I agree.
But I think you're going to have trouble convincing most people that he's worse than Keith Aucoin. Aucoin is pretty terrible, man. And even more terrible in a tight checking series like this one. At least Knuble could hit and maybe scrounge up something or other. Aucoin will not do either of those things, I guarantee it.
Remember back in 2010 when we had eight guys with at least 19 goals, one with 40, and one with 50? That team was awesome.
The Caps just played better with him in the lineup late in the season, he's a good leader, and he's still a better player than Ward is anyday of the week, so is Aucoin. Ward needs to sit and Halpie should be in at 12th forward instead w/Backstrom being out. That's their best group of forwards right now, you have to go with it in a do or die situation.
I'd much rather have Ward on the ice than those feckless midgets, Aucoin and Perrault.
Ward just completely sucks, he's totally worthless. Worst forward on the team, bottom line.
At least The Midgets, who should never be on the same line together as they were on Boston's first goal, can both make a creative pass in the O-zone, MP85 can shoot it a little bit, and it only takes one. So with The Midgets, you actually still have a chance to try to make a play at least, but with Ward, you get absolutely nothing.
Knuble is clearly better than Ward. Literally anyone would be better than Ward. But lets be honest, griping about who among our bad players should be in the lineup is so small time. It won't matter regardless.
That is how I feel also...
But, if I was coach for a day
Schults out - Orlov In
Acouin Out - Knuble In
Perrault Out - Halpern In
Seeing Acouin and Perrault get knocked around just makes me angry...people always bash Hal Gill who is very slow, but in the playoffs, you need big guys who can stand their ground...and that is why he is always coveted
Jackie Robinson isn't dirty. This isn't Pack Pride.
game day fellas, what is everyone's feelings 9 1/2 hours before the puck drops?
I'm a lifelong Caps fan, which means I'm a seething cauldron of nerves, rage, and fear of crushing disappointment.
So in the OV era the I think the Caps are 1-7 in home playoff games I go to and 8-2 in ones I don't. I am not going tonight.

we really need holtby to be like he was in game 1 and 2. and we need OV to be just as good offensively and better defensively.
otherwise im super nervous and freaking out but i think we pull this one out something like 3-2.
im hearing pg plaza is the spot!
Tweest coming out that Knuble and Erskine are in, Schultz is out.
Scratches skating Halpern, Sjogren, Orlov, Schultz, Backstrom
I'd put Erskine, Orlov, Knuble and Halpern in, sit Schultz, Ward and Perrault and tell Erskine to just go HAM on Seguin and Marchand. Might as well fight fire with fire.
This sums it up perfectly. Cbooze and I were talking at game 3 about how relieved we are that there is little chance of a home game 7 at any point this year.
I am just hoping to drink enough to be delirious if we win or not care if we lose.
This is a must.
Despite how well they've played in the series, this has become an "irrational hope" game for me. One where you know what's coming, but you still play the what-ifs and fantasy scenarios to the hilt and hope they hit ONE TIME.
Like, I've talked myself into a 5-1 Caps win tonight. It's just going to be one where it all comes together - Ovi goes off, the Bruins get tilted by being in a hotel, whatever. But there is literally zero chance of this happening, and the reverse is way more likely. Unless it happens ONE TIME.
Ovi with the hat trick?
Kevin O'Shea, cletus...
Checking in from Costa Rica....I have my illegal stream ready to go.
I know deep down I feel we are going to lose, but the young person in me says we circle the wagons and win this sh!t
F@ck I am all in as I know how angry/disappointed they make me, I will miss it even more when they are done
F@ck Lucic, F@ck that 6'9" Lurch looking m'fer, f Tim thomas
SUCK MY BALLS TIM THOMAS
I think it's kind of unrespectful- Ovie
gotta stop playing defense though or this lead will evaporate very quickly.
