I live a rough life.
Lots of mouth-breathers in this thread
who in their right mind is gonna trade a 4th or higher for a guy they know will just get cut
It's an NFL thread. No surprise.
This stings from the perspective of I love the dude, but now it's time to move on.
Better to cut ties too early than too late. We simply could not afford even his discounted salary offer. This is what happens when you're good.
Boldin can't separate from anybody. He's so slow. He had a great postseason, but it was pretty fluky. He's a solid #2 WR. The Ravens hit on a lot of jumpballs and back shoulder catches in the playoffs. Those are lower percentage type throws. The reason why they did that so much is because their WRs struggle to separate.
Just don't be stupid enough to think Jacoby Jones is anything more than a #3 WR and we will be fine.
and you advocate keeping Leach?
This makes no sense unless we make a move for Jennings.
This is the right take. They have money to move for a solid #2 that can hopefully stretch the field
Looking to free up cap room to sign Jennings?
Oh I know that. Just a little meltdown post for losing a favorite player. Pissed for now but will get over it.
polian speculated a move for greg jennings
The reason we'll be fine is because of offensive balance. You don't need a 1500 yard receiver to win games in Baltimore. Everyone contributes in the passing game, and you have a top-5 back that needs touches. Better to get a 6th rounder than nothing. We need the money elsewhere.
Turning on 105.7 right now.
So Brady takes cuts to keep players. Flacco takes biggest contract in league, and now team has to cut key player after asking that player to only take a 2 mil pay cut? Interesting management style.
Jennings is an upgrade if he stays healthy.
That can't be true. RnT told Redskins fans multiple times that we overpaid for Pierre Garcon at roughly 8 million a year (5 years/$42.5 million).
The 49ers still have a shitload of picks, too. They're gonna be nasty.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
This makes me sad, not angry. I trust Ozzie and we just won a fucking Super Bowl, so I'm not going to go nuts.
Go away, KA!
Complete Apples To Oranges....
1) Brady Already Got His Pay Day
2) Flacco's Deal Helps The Ravens With Their Cap As Opposed To A Franchise
3) The Ravens Already Were Under The Cap Prior To This Trade Which Leads Me To Believe We Are In Play With Jennings
I like you.
I always see Da'Rick Rodgers going to the Ravens in mock drafts. He's got a lot of talent if you can keep him sane/out of trouble.
We'll revisit this when every other similar receiver is making the same money or more.
