This is a much better hire than I was hoping for and done in such an efficient manner that Gary might escape blame for sabotaging it in the intro presser.

Dave Doeren from No. Illinois, huh?
Could be good for them.

"Academics is important, because without them....you aren't allowed to play!"
What's with all these "Debbie got her man" puns.
If Mitch does decide to go you could be looking at 10 wins or less next year - MdBbReporter

I read this as "Debbie got her man" penis.
I wonder if Doeren knows about Mr. Yao yet. If not he will in spring practice. Doerin has no idea what he's getting himself into.
A win-win really. If he succeeds he's done it despite Yao and is off to greener pastures. If he fails, others in the industry can blame Yao and he'll still have mid major options and a bunch of $
As much as I hate to admit it, pretty impressive hire.
Lets wait and see. He inherited an 11 win team and kept them at 11 wins which is nice, but lets see if he can build a program.
He was definitely going to be a hot commodity this offseason as successful MAC coaches usually are, so I do give them props for locking him up before a bigger name or bigger spending program could swoop in. I think their problem is that they are all comparing him to Urban Meyer, but in that scenario they don't seem to realize that they are Utah and not Florida.

Yeah, and if he hadn't signed the contract yet, he may never see the sideline for NCSU, which would be more than anyone of us could have conceivably hoped for.
