Many feel it's one of the best jobs in the ACC, but athletics director Debbie Yow doesn't have the greatest reputation as a person to work for. In fact, one connected source in the Triangle said Sunday that "there may be high school coaches that would turn that job down rather than work for Yow"
Should be an interesting search to follow.
Unless you're on your way out why would a coach leave a Big 4 job to take a mid-level ACC job? I think Clemson/FSU are the only jobs in the conference that could get a coach to leave a job in the SEC/B10/P12/B12.
@footballscoop: Have confirmed that representatives from NC State have spoken with Mike Leach
I'd love to be in the room for that interview.
I want that to happen so badly.
LOL at Leach and Yow working together.
I am going to put in my guess who ends up with the job...Dan Hawkins. I have no clue why, but it is just a feeling
I wonder if Gary is going to sabotage this search as well.
Go away, KA!
get on the Vandwagon!
The only reason I'd argue you guys fucked up leaving the ACC is that you no longer get quite the same joy out of an NC State coaching search.
someone get the shed
Actually Debbie likes bald guys.
I think Petrino lands at either Auburn, Tennessee or Kentucky.
Has anyone stumbled upon some packpride gold yet?
Pete Roussel @coachingsearch
I've confirmed the report about NC State reaching out to Mike Leach is 100% inaccurate. http://Coachingsearch.com/ for real news.
That was quick
@footballscoop is denying that report. Coaching searches in the twitter age everybody!
@OntheDunk: Where is State getting the $ to pay a new football coach a top 3 salary, on top of buyouts, etc? We gonna go broke
it's kind of frustrating that NC State realizes they need to cut ties with a stale coach, and we're stuck with Rangoon for 1-2 more years at a minimum. While NC State's team outperformed us the last two years.
Yow doin work!
We were in their shoes two years ago.
To be fair, this could completely backfire on them; Yow isn't known to be good with money. Firing their coach and finding a new one isn't going to be cheap.

Yeah, the real test for NC State is what they'll do in 2 years when they hire their Rangoon and wallow in suck for a couple of years.
It's easy for Yow to fire TOB when the fan base is unhappy and he was Fowler's hire anyway. I see Yow being way too stubborn to fire her own hire after a year or two unless he turns out to be Jerry Sandusky or something.
Ron Prince would be hilarious. He is boys with Franklin too so maybe he will recommend him.
Yow is live on WRAL 5 in Raleigh.
