First of all, only Pippen is 6'8. Second, if your main argument is that a ball handler as strong as Michael Jordan couldn't even get the ball up the floor or that my team will be so frazzled they won't even know where to go on offense...then good luck?
Jordan isn't even where I win this matchup. Even if you took Jordan off my team, your team gets straight dominated in the post. 1 game without Miller and 1 game without Mourning.
Sure, I have the best player in the history of basketball, but I'm not going to over burden him because I don't have to. His job is to initiate the offense and score efficiently (which he did his entire career, at a FG% 52 or greater during the years I used him, compared to Kobe who shot 46% on less shots). His supporting cast is perfect for him. You can't play help D off of Allen. Both Allen and Drexler were incredible off the ball. Who are you putting on Allen? Penny is going to run around with him and fight through screens on the baseline for 40 minutes?! He isn't built for that.
Is Kemp playing a lot? Malone owned him.
No, I stated that earlier. This isn't Kemp or Hardaways best matchup, so they will get less minutes. Ewing gets more minutes at the 4 with Mutombo playing at the 5.
This goes back to team versatility. Jordan helps but I have versatile players all around my lineup. Guys who are capable of playing multiple positions.
Lol at dominating in the post when I have by far the best post player. Yaaawwwnnnn. Titan x2. Malone eats kemps lunch.
Ewing and mutumbo at the same time against the quickest end to end team in the tournament. Good luck.
You have the best post scorer, not the best post player. Ewings length will cause issues for Malone, and him and Mutombo are going to straight dominate the boards, which will severely limit your ability to run. They will get back on D just fine when you need 4 guys to crash the boards on defense every play.

Malone is best post player. Ewing, dikembe, and mourning are all great post defenders. But malones offensive game sets him apart.
If you plan on playing those two you play right into my hands. Miller gets a ton of time in this series and draws one of them out of the paint giving malone room and allowing us all kinds of room to penetrate. Miller was money from the 18 feet and a great passer. His rebounding is good enough. Subtraction by addition with those two against me.
That's also an abysmal offensive set up for you the times where you actually can get into a half court offense with more than 7 seconds on the shit clock. Where does mutumbo go when Ewing posts. It's a crowded mess in there.
Ewing was great facing up and getting to the rim, I don't see the issue here at all.
I'm not going to dignify any plans that involve Brad Miller with a response.
You should probably take your ball and go home while you're at it. You and Titan can play parchese.
I encourage the judges to actually look at Millers stats in that stretch and think about what I'm suggesting.
I think you have advantage in malone/miller v ewing/dikembe. But who guards who for you?
Same question for will? I think ewing dominates either miller or malone on the block
This guy vs. Brad Miller. lol
This video shows the Top 13 career plays of Patrick Ewing as described by NBA TV.
Just for clarification, Kemp will play a lot more when Miller is in the game.. Kemp would cover Miller. I didn't plan for this, because naturally I didn't plan for Will to seriously involve Brad Miller in his game plan. I guess I was wrong.
When it's Malone/Mourning, I'm pretty indifferent on who covers who, but I'd probably say Dikembe on Malone and Ewing on Mourning. Dikembe's length and size would be difficult to handle for a pure post scorer like Malone.
If it's Malone/Miller vs. Ewing/Mutombo on the floor, then I'd again have Ewing on Miller, because I think Ewing is the better overall athlete and would cover more ground after the shot went up if Will is intent on spacing him out.
WillBo should just post the Pippen dunking on Ewing video and save the fancy-talking stats stuff for later.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
That dunk was awesome.
And yea, Ewing wasn't nearly as good of a defender when he got older. Lots of guys were dunking on him once he got further in to his thirties. He deteriorated as an athlete but didn't adjust his playing style defensively. There is an entire youtube video of people dunking on him and like 9 of the 10 are from 94-96.
Didn't take long for WM to start wavering on his gameplan. I know it's tough facing a team that can adapt and neutralize whatever style you choose to play but c'mon dude. Stick to your guns a little bit.
Also I think it's humorous that I am a lesser version of his team when I have the by far best post player in the matchup, I have the much more athletic and versatile starting five, and I actually will be able to get consistent scoring from more than one position.
This series is similar to the last one I won. Yes Jordan is going to get his but we will be able to really cut off any secondary scoring options. I considered matching up a different way but in the end Pippen will see most of the work on Jordan. Jordan is going to have to work so hard on offense and won't get nearly enough rest on defense when whoever you choose to put him on is running constantly on defense. I don't need to double anywhere in the post. If you think Patrick Ewing is doing enough on offense to Carey you past me then good fucking luck. Kobe will have to run thru some screens yes but the discrepancy with how much less hard he has to work on defense is staggering. Plus he actually has a legit second scoring option in Malone. If Jordan is bringing the ball up and entering you into your offense then where exactly does Clyde even fit in.
Yet another team not properly put together and not built for tw basketball. Hopefully the judges can get past the "I have Jordan" argument and see how flawed WM's team is and how his lack of ball handlers and lack of versatile post scoring threat is going to make this a 4-2 series in my favor.
Where did I waver? Playing Kemp vs. Miller just shows my versatility, not yours.
Pippen was the perfect guy to shut down Clyde, but he couldn't. 1. What makes you think a vastly inferior defender to Pippen (Hardaway) could shut down Clyde when Pippen couldn't, and 2.What makes you think Pippen could shut down a vastly superior scorer to Drexler in Jordan?
Will's whole argument comes down to the fact that he thinks he has players that can shut down my wings. That's great, but what can those guys do against mine? He doesn't have an advantage in the post, so he needs to have an advantage on the permeter. Is Kobe going to shoot 40% like he did in 2 NBA finals vs. an aging Ray Allen? Pippen scored lower then his prime averages vs. Clyde, and Jordan would give Hardaway nightmares as an on the ball defender.
The strong point of my team is stronger then canyon's. Jordan-Drexler-Allen is a better combination then Hardaway-Kobe-Pippen. But even if you only consider them equal (and I'd strongly disagree with that, but whatever), I have a clear advanage in the post. Malone-Zo-Brad Miller isn't as good of a group as Ewing-Kemp-Mutombo.
Not to mention the fact that both Zo and Miller will each miss 1 game this series. Even if you are generous and say they miss the same game, at that point you have to believe that Will takes the rest of the series 4-2.
This isn't about what group of post players is better than the other group. It's that my one post player has such a glaring advantage over all of yours and its something you cant replicate.
Patrick Ewing is the red headed step child of 90s stars. He never rolls off the tongue with the other greats, he wasn't a winner, and his teams were notorious for being second tier and beyond that chokers. He made the all NBA first team only once. He couldn't get his teams past the pacers with legendary post players like the Davis brothers and rik smits. The one time he actually got the the finals he got obliterated by Hakeem.
It's a joke he is even in the too 50 players of all time. Good luck pinning your hopes on Ewing winning this for you.
So Jordan is going to bring the ball up, get you into your offense despite ridiculous pressure defense, AND guard the opposing team PG.....and you need him to score 30ppg in this series whether you want to admit it or not.
How many minutes is he going to play while doing all this?
I mean if penny is guarding clyde and running the offense against jordan he's working a lot too. And kobe is running around a ton of screens on d covering allen. Here is where some better guard depth would help both teams. And I like hardaway/marion a lot better than cousy/richmond in that regard.
I don't have access to advances stats but Cousy is taller than Hardaway. I assume they have similarly effective numbers. But everyone seems to hate Cousy because of athleticism despite the fact that he has the same build as Stockton. Russell Westbrook and Derrick rose would be terrible for him but if you are going to say Tim Hardaway would abuse him them just eliminate all guards from before a certain time period.
Richmond and Marion aren't really similar but both are equally effective for their roles on their respective teams.
