Bossterp is lucky that Phil Jackson is controlling his team and not himself. I'm still not sold that Phil gets the most out of this team, but he has so much offensive firepower that I don't think it matters during this round.
Boss has the better talent 100%. The problem is he basically went BPA every round and clearly has no idea how this team works.
Does it matter that he doesn't know how this team works? Is Phil taking instructions from him or do we just assume Boss is pretty much an owner? Serious question.
I'll go with **Bossterp**. He has better talent and talent usual wins in the NBA. Also he has the best coach. He'll have a harder time winning in the second round though.

I think we have to have an idea how our team will function even if the coach will implement that and make it better. Like phil can obvs still be a pretty good coach w that roster but with a great triangle team he'd be perfect. That was my thought on the coach caveat
I am an owner. I have already said I trust Phil Jackson to figure out what to do. He has won without centers, he has won without point guards. He will figure out a way to win without a strong 2 (although I think he can get a lot out of RW's athleticism).
I think it's cool to trust your coach, but if you don't have a good udnerstanding of your team then it's tough to convince others than you can win.
BTW this is a really tough matchup gonna have to think some more about it.
Honestly, that's why I didn't really like the coach idea. I prefer to have some strategy beyond saying "here is the talent, here is the coaching mind, he knows better than you."
Yeah. I still think this team wins this matchup running the triangle how Phil would run it, it'd just a be a little bit different. Dirk would cause problems on the perimeter in this matchup. In future rounds, I'm not just going to go with the fact that Phil would completely change the offensive system he won all of his titles with though. I'm just looking at a Westbrook/Kareem/Dirk triangle. Not ideal but good enough for this round.
I bet Howard could take Kareem, but nobody on JManslow's team can guard Dirk, especially with Barkley as your PF. It sucks for JMan that he got this rough matchup because his team is solid. And I think on the perimeter there'll be a lot of scoring both ways. So I'll give the edge to
I agree with this analysis. JManslow's team is well put together but Dirk is the wild card. I think it's a lot to ask Howard to have to play the entire game on Kareem/Yao. He really can't take a breather or Kareem sits and Yao comes in to have a foot height advantage over the backup center.
These teams have good pieces but a lot of holes in a competition like this.
I'll go boss under the assumption his team outscores jman. But both teams have matchup, defense, and depth issues

Earl Monroe was one of my favorite players as a kid so his team wins.
Despite the best efforts of bossterp I'm going to vote for ***bossterp***
I see what you did there.
***bossterp*** in a 7 game classic.
FINAL: probably one of the more entertaining opening round series, but bossterp takes it over Jmanslow 7-2
If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?
