Yeah but Rory has extraordinary skill. I think his problem may lie in desire. He seems to like to party a bit.
wow. remember when it wasn't cool to play golf
Nice left boob tat. I'm guessing the look on her face when in the water led immediately to the strolling hand in hand picture and straight to the room.
Rory and Tiger playing together live on TGC right now from Dubai.
Tiger misses cut at Dubai after two stroke penalty. Rory does too. Didn't see that coming. I guess I will be stuck watching that crap fest at PGA west
This is one of my least favorite PGA Tour events of the year. It's absurdly easy, it's impossible to follow online because they only track one of the three courses, the leaderboard generally sucks, etc. Blegh.
BTW, I saw a stat yesterday that in 2012, Robert Garrigus (I think?) and Ryan Palmer led the Tour with the most rounds at 64 or better with five. Russell Henley already has four this year.
Mickelson says he's going to announce "drastic changes" off the course, due to his Fed & state tax rates going up. What could be drastic? is he gonna renounce his citizenship and move to Dubai? If he's just moving to Florida, then STFU. i know California>>>>>>>Florida, but whatever. could he be retiring? seems doubtful
They were talking about this last night after the tournament ended on the Golf Channel.
While I think it makes for interesting political discussion, the only conclusion I can make is that Phil's moving from California to either Texas or Florida. I'm sure it'll get a few political folks up in arms on both sides, but I can't really see how this becomes quite the huge deal that the talking heads were predicting. It's not like Phil's going to get booed every time he tees it up at Torrey or something.
He mentioned retiring over it. 62 percent tax rate
I don't really understand why retiring makes sense. He'll be in the highest brackets whether he plays golf or not. California has a 13.3% income tax for income over $1M, and he could drop that easily by moving to Florida or Texas. Even if he stays in California, 38% of whatever he makes while actively playing golf and getting endorsements is more than 38% of what he'd make not playing golf.
I also have questions about how he got to the 62% number - state + fed rates would put him at about 53%. Medicare's another 2.9% if he's self-employed. Social Security is negligible for someone who makes that much money.
He's already recanted and said he won't discuss it tomorrow at Torrey. As much of a family guy as he is, there's no chance he moves his family from Cali to Florida. I doubt he needs the money and I'm sure the guys at Barclays have him as much tax exempt as possible.
Much stronger field at Torrey this week, IIRC one key is to play the North Course on Thursday and tear it up to get off to a good start.
Phil off to Phil start on the North, three birdies two bogeys.
Tiger -1 through 3 on the South.
Tiger with two birdies, an eagle and, a double through 7.
This is worst coverage ever. They just showing 18th on the north course?
there is nothing better than pgatour primetime on thursday nights. it's like heaven to me
Ugh, I hate that euro golf is on the golf network instead of Tiger
TGC probably does too. We'll get a good luck at Saturday/Sunday Tiger early this season.
Tiger threatening to run away... He has a 3-shot lead.
And Mike Weir is going to make his first cut since 2011!! (Last week, he triple-bogeyed his final hole to miss the cut when he was inside the number.) He's made 2 of his last 31 cuts over the past three seasons.
Phil likely to miss it looks like.

I see Tiger is +650 to win the Masters. Wondering if I should put some money down now before it drops to +500
not watching but the north is short for pga standards. Has to be hitting a bunch of irons of the tees.
He's been hitting a lot of driver.
Course is in terrible shape. Rained like hell overnight, standing water in a lot of the fairways. I'm posted up on 15th green terrace...sun came out 15 minutes ago, then the fog rolled in thicker than ever. Doubt they even get 9 holes in today.
Tiger playing nicely
