Sweet one year window we had!
i'm still laughing at that
I AM DA MAYN RI NOW
Why aren't you ever happy? Jordan Valdespin wins a gritty game for you and all you can do is laugh? Jordan Valdespin is a nice addition to the Mets core.
He's obviously super-talented, but he's so raw, and his numbers aren't sustainable right now until he becomes more selective at the plate. 21 strikeouts and 3 walks coming into tonight - that'll catch up to anyone.
What an amazing job by our bullpen this series to completely destroy the season in April. Wonderful.
bad bullpen and bad bullpen management yet again
Crazy that Lee talked your manager into leaving him in.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
He had three more strike outs today and had two hits as well. He's still a kid too. But if he manages to sustain his production two of the three outfield spots are nailed down for a while.
Meanwhile, we are trying to give this game back to the Phillies in the 9th.
Love Marte for the Pirates though. Legit 20/20 guy though as UMTerp said the only thing really holding him back is his selectivity at the plate. Some guys develop it, some guys don't but I think Marte will piece things together.
And speaking of outfielders with a ton of potential, I have to rant on Dom Brown. I know he had a pretty good game today and has kind of picked things up defensively, but I'm crushed by his less than average production thus far. I know spring numbers aren't very useful, but he was tearing the cover off the ball. I'm just horrified because Delmon Young is coming back to destroy Brown's career and the only meaningful potential in this Phillies team.
Bob, how bad has RAJ broken us? Our farm system is pretty freaking bad (understandable with winning a lot, but his trades have plundered it) and the Howard contract is going to be looming over us for years. It was apparent that he was counting on the Phillies fans just packing the park every day for an average team and using that money on aging FA's in the offseason to put a band-aid on a gunshot wound.
Pat, I am a little different I think.... I have no regrets about not having a lot in the minors right now because it means we "went for it" over the last several years. I remember the years where we couldn't/wouldn't "go for it" and it was sad. Sure, I obviously wish some of those trades resulted in a bit being down there to give me a good feeling for the future but overall, I am not going to complain.
Rube's trading history regarding prospects isnt stellar, which is why when the time comes to say the season is over and he starts trading for the future, I am a little uneasy with that feeling...
and when Young is ready Brown goes to LF and it means the end of the JMJ era thank god, so that is a positive in my book. adding Ruiz and Young will help hopefully.....I just hope its not too late.
it takes some kind of team to get owned by kyle kendrick as often the mets seem to
jay, you only need one run to win any game vs the phillies.......you will be fine, dont worry
what a pathetic offense this is. i don't care how many runs they've scored this season
game is about to be over

it's always just like old times vs the mets!
my fault Jay....I forgot Dillon Gee was pitching!
can't fucking pitch with runners on base
good quality to have
last weekend's series was honestly awesome, even if those are the only two wins they'll get vs those dc fucks
this weekend is gonna be straight out of 2007-11
i wonder if michael young's predictable ownership of mets not named harvey is going to endear him to phily fans
going to start off the season 1-5 vs a really terrible phillies team. wonderful stuff
fuck off and die nats fans
I dont recognize this team right now - sure things will be back to normal tomorrow even though Ruiz will be back
bob, the phillies still live to beat the mets. and the mets are just an awful, awful, awful baseball team. like 100 losses awful. i expect a nice 3 homer game from ruiz tomorrow
change the title plz bob. thanks for dooming my team to some terrible baseball!
i see the braves are regressing a bit. no way, they're not running away with the division and nats fans are dumb as shit?
but the season is over since they possibly won't cruise to 100+ wins!
now bryce harper is apparently not getting enough recognition
