Great start to the season. The late end to the schedule is the only reason we are playing in late April this season.
i just hope the boys can get back to DC quick enough to enjoy the clubs tonight.
It's going to be ugly for the first couple weeks, until the players really get a grasp of what they need to do in this system. We were highly disorganized on both ends of the ice today.
Positives: Ward cleaning up the garbage, Wolski looking more like a 2nd liner than a healthy scratch, Ribeiro looking good despite not playing in the lockout. Poti also seemed okay before that last turnover.
Negatives: Top line doesn't seem right. Maybe its Johansson. Didn't get a ton of ES chances for them. Holtby let in a couple that he shouldn't have if we expect him to be a serviceable #1.
-Refreshing to see us crash the net. Hoping there's more where that came from especially with Ward.
-Pleasantly surprised by Poti after being out for two seasons.
-Ribeiro. Would have been money to have tonight's Ribeiro the past three years.
-Wolski not looking like the corpse he has been since leaving Colorado.
-Carlson/Alzner seemingly in good shape.
-At least in relation to Tampa, team as a whole doesn't seem to be in the best shape.
-Schultz was predictably brutal.
-Hate the 7 D. Hoping Oates nips it in the bud. Need Orlov back there in the worst way.
-Holtby seemed unusually shook. First game jitters, I guess/hope.
-As jburd said, no chemistry on the top line. Not sure if it's Ovechkin at RW or Johansson being MIA.
Glad hockey is back, I guess. Already dreading Ted's Take tomorrow.
We looked like you would expect but we better get over that soon. The season isn't long enough to dick around figuring it out. PP is going to be key all season. Holtby wasn't great but the D was far worse than he was.
The new tickets that load straight onto a credit card are pretty sweet.
Thank god we're in our division. I'll be worried after 15 games if we're floundering. Rangers and Flyers aren't off to good starts either.
It was one game. We'll be fine. Let's get it tonight.
Who is Tomas Kundratek and why have I never heard of him? Supposedly he's going to be up tonight making his debut.
Got him from NY last year for Francois Bouchard, minor league deal. He played a couple games with us last season in DC.
Funny that it took exactly 1 game for Oates to give up on Schultz and call someone up from Hershey to replace him.
I do hope this is the case.
I have been a Schultz hater for years and always just kind of assumed GMGM made BB play him. Slow, not physical, big pylon.
Whats up with Erskine?

Brandon Dubinsky wins it for the New York Rangers in Game 1 against the Washington Capitals as he dekes and shoots high on Jose Theodore.

Crabb is in the lineup tonight as well. Holtby in goal, according to Carrera and Walton on Twitter.
Just want to go on record that I don't think Holtby is that great a goalie, and that Neuvy is going to win the job sooner rather than later. In the meantime I hope we can pull out some 5-4 wins.
Got tickets to Thursday's game. Section 218!
announcers trying to jinx us with the 10-0 in the last 10 openers.
that was some nice puck movement.
tell me more about Chuck Gormley
thats quite the PK we have there...
Holtby (eta: and our D) is not good, FWIW
