I always thought that some had him a little over rated. His career high point was playing with Brendan Morrison centering Flash/Fehr a few years back under Juggles in a line that had good chemistry, and he had a highlight moment in the Winter Classic on the give and go passes with Chimmer, but he's not very creative on his own. And he's also not the most physical guy on the planet, doesn't use his good size in that manner. Typical 3rd line RW, shot's not bad when he gets it off, he DID score 20+ goals that year but he really needs a playmaking centerman to set him up, to play his best.
I'm not really all that familiar with strategy in hockey. What are the differences in lines? Is it pretty much just your best players on the first line, next best on the second line, etc? Also, how come teams don't always start their first line like in other sports?
short answers: looking for chemistry more than just "best players" + your 1st line center isn't always your best face off man/wait for an opportunity to gain the puck before throwing out said "best" (read: offensive) line
The visiting team has to send their line out first so if they were to send out a scoring line you'd want to counter with a more defensive group.
Great questions, where to start? lol.
There's always a game within a game going on (coach vs coach), e.g., matchups vs the other team, chemistry between linemates, maybe you want more balance across your lines, or sometimes you want to put your best O guys together as a superline, etc etc. A lot depends on situations, your overall offensive talent level as a team, etc etc.
is it Saturday yet?
Does anyone by chance have/willing to share the presale password? Hoping to make Verizon my away game trip this year on Super Bowl Sunday. PM me if you don't want to be vilified by other Caps fans for giving it to a traitor. I appreciate it in general. If anyone wants presale password to Pens site for Pens/Caps, let me know.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
I signed up here this morning but still haven't gotten the email. This afternoon I would assume.
Captials Ticket Presale
Ted has been known to block Pittsburgh are zip codes from purchasing in the past.
Ted is a piece of shit.
I'm aware, but I think it is only for playoffs. Additionally, my friend that I'd be going with is outside the Pittsburgh-area, which should make it easier.
They did a Presale today before the main Presale, for season ticket holders. The seats were all discounted to the per-game full season ticket holder price. I got some better seats for a few games, and will probably just sell mine off for those games.
This Presale didn't apply to a couple games, pens, rangers, flyers and one other I think.
the 10 game ticket voucher plan looks pretty nice. They have 100, Club, and 400 level seats available. I have to check and see if any of the big name opponents are excluded.
5 days......Let's. Go.
Washington Capitals vs. Boston Bruins 2:1 OT
Joel Ward scores the final goal of the Bruins Capitals series with the call from John Walton at Caps Radio stating that "The King is Dead"
Pretty slim pickings for the two Tampa games in April. Can't imagine there's a ton of seats for any individual game.
Just got tickets for the home opener Tuesday. Barely anything to choose from. The interactive map showed mostly singles left except some high ticket seats down low and stuff way upstairs and then kicked me out to just doing a best available search which left me at the top of the arena.
Ovechkin went to locker room after colliding with Johansson during scrimmage, bleeding from mouth it appeared. MJ90 on bench
He and MJ90 are both back, and Ovie scored later in the scrimmage. We can all breathe on this one.
Looked through the presale. No lower rows in UL available. LL were higher than I can get on CL game day. I might do a 3 game pack, otherwise just sh/cl day of because it'll be cheaper.
There are already a ton of tickets on stubhub for under face.
Are we planning on playing Ovie on the right side exclusively?
Not sure it matters, I bet he still cuts right to the middle to the waiting defender regardless of what side he's on.
Thought I read somewhere Torts is moving Gaborik to LW in a similar move.
We were told earlier Green was out with a cold. Then Oates said Green wasn't going to play in scrimmage anyway. #Caps
Mike Green is injured and/or a pussy. It is officially hockey season.
I don't know if I have ever disliked a player on my home team in any sport more thank Mike Green. DHall is the only one that comes to mind.

Nowhere near as deplorable as Landry. And maybe that little pussy Kuznetsov.
