is that 4 penalties in the first 6+ minutes of the 3rd? yikes
Nice job killing off that 1:30 or so with two man down. And another PK coming up now.
if they can pull this out tonight, it's going to be one hell of a win
5 non-major penalties in 10 minutes. unbelievable.
make that 6 in 10+ minutes
So we kill off 42 minutes in penalties and then they score at ES?
And now 6. Unreal.
another 5-3 pk. jeeeezz.
Remember when people LOLed at Chicago for shooting their load in 2010? Yeah, they won a Cup, but they didn't build a long-term Thompson Creek WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY like your boys. You can have that silly Cup! Suckers!

Well, at least we can really pack it in. Flip Ribiero while his value is high. I'm fine with trading Carlson too... sick of his shit, and some teams must still be enamored with his juniors highlights, and playoff performance last year.
If McPhee doesn't trade Ribiero at the deadline, I'm going to flip.
not sure how to take last night...
On the one hand, OV looked like OV of old...
The call on Poti was cheap and should not have been called...
But on the other hand....Carlson, WTF is wrong with you...it is like he is intentionally losing the puck.
I know he is old and slow, but we have to put Roman in...he knows how to position, clear a puck, etc...otherwise known as basic defensive fundamentals
Oh yeah..... wLOLski...this was our replacement for Semin? GTFO...
And Backstrom...wake the F#$* up...seems he is going through the motions...
Jackie Robinson isn't dirty. This isn't Pack Pride.
WTF is going on with Brooks, Orlov, and Hillen? We're coming up on the halfway mark of the season and all of these guys are MIA, is there even a timetable for them coming back? I thought Laich was skating with the team last week.
Backstrom and Carlson are the most puzzling. Trading Ribeiro is such a no brainer. His value is as high as it's going to get and at the money he's going to want in the offseason at 32 years old I don't think we are going to be able to keep him. I'm guessing we walk it all the way up to the deadline in case we manage to get back into the race.
Logic says trade Ribeiro.
GM GM says 4 year $24 mil extension!
This. Most of the penalties were fully deserved, and we wouldn't have even been in the game had Holtby not been outstanding - but the "interference" call on Poti was one of the worst calls I've seen anywhere in the NHL all season and led directly to the GWG.
I'm fully on the Suck for Seth/No Winnin' for MacKinnon bandwagon at this point, which means figure out who your core is and trade anyone else you can at the deadline. I really wish we had a real GM here to make decisions on tough calls like Carlson, Green, Laich, and Brouwer.

In all this, the thing that kills me the most is giving Tom Poti a 2 year $6 million dollar deal when the guy was almost forced into retirement!
At least he comes off the books this year. The sad part is that he's getting serious minutes.
I wonder what our defense will look like next year. Green, Schultz, Carlson and Orlov are under contract. My guess is George will re-sign Alzner (obv) and Kundratek (both RFAs) to round out his ideal top 6. Then he'll need to either re-sign Erskine and find another random depth defenseman or actually try to find a legit top 4 guy somehow and knock Schultz, Orlov and Kundratek down the depth chart. Scenario 1 is probably far more likely though.
Is John Carlson the most reverse-Sampson player of all-time?
Schultz has got to be an amnesty candidate.
