Not to nitpick but I'd take GW over LaSalle. LaSalle isn't good enough to double dip the Philly market.

Yeah, that's the one I couldn't think of. Figured it was the same with Mason/GW. I wanted a NYC team, so maybe Manhattan or Iona.
Actually just put Davidson in there instead of either one.

The NYC thinking is how the league ended up with Fordham. A-10's problem is too much dead weight at the bottom (Fordham, LaSalle, Duquesne, Bonnies until this year, Charlotte since they've been A10). Ideally it would look something like this:

That league has too many teams (10 is ideal) and too few cities for that many teams. 3 Philly teams, 2 DC teams, 2 Richmond teams.

They don't really need Richmond, UMass, or Rhode Island. None of those teams are very good basketball schools traditionally (RIchmond is OK) and since they're football teams they already have one foot out the door at all times.

Since the A10 has basically always been the jv Big East anyway, I was keeping some of the DNA. And i doubled up for travel partners as well as intra-market rivlaries (since none of the schools in and of themselves brings a market). Agreed that UMass and URI are better fits at this point in the CAA (with Charlotte) because of football.

Well, not the entire market. But when WVU won the BE tourney you did hear the place singing country roads as georgetown left the floor. I know you dont think that was all WVa locals who flew to NYC.

No, I consider that any WVU alums that were there. Incredibly, I am smart enough to realize some WVU grads ended up in NYC.
However, I'm also not convinced you are smart enough to realize that if, say, South Florida won the Big East Tournament, there would be enough South Florida alums in attendance that they'd be singing South Florida's Alma Mater as they walked off the court too.

Well i think you are smart enough to realize the difference between the crowd at a single game, and the crowd at the BE tourney in NYC. WVU fans are not going to be able to get all the tickets to the garden for the BE tourney. lol.
there are 16 teams plus many locals like to attend. plus spike lee who got to endure country roads before he could exit the building.

Yes but WVU gets a certain ticket allottment for the BE Tourney, and fans of teams who lose typically sell their tickets because they don't want to watch other teams play. I'm sure a ton of Duke fans showed up to watch UNC/FLST after they lost in the semifinals.

I think Nola believes that residents of WV never leave WV. Those fans that just show up to root for WVU just happen to live in that metropolitan area.
