if i were the caps i'd prefer the teams in this order: Rangers > Devils > Flyers

If Rangers win, they play the Rangers.
If Ottawa wins, and Florida wins, they play the Flyers.
If Ottawa wins and NJ wins, they play my Devils.

What is the earliest G1 would be of the next series? I hope not Sunday for selfish reasons but that's my guess.

Gotta figure LA/St Lou and Phoenix/Nashville isn't exactly making Bettman's week. Caps/Rangers or Caps/Flyers, my guess would be Sunday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday.

Yeah Ovi is clearly not the dominante scorer he has been the past, and a change in systems has been part of the reason. But he did lead the team in points during that "bad series" right?

People have the most unreal expectations of star hockey players. I blame it on people not actually following hockey until the playoffs. If you lead your team in points, in a series where you are a heavy dog, against the defending cup champs, which has perhaps the best defensive pairing in the NHL on the ice every second you are out there, you didn't "not show up." He was a part of 5/16 goals in the series. Crosby 7/26. This wasn't a shootout. Every goal was a task, you can't expect him to go for 14pts like Giroux against Chara/Miller.

Give me Philly. I don't want them after another tough series against NY. Ottawa/Florida winner wont be ready for the winner of Philly/Washington. This year wasn't about making it further than usual. Its already a "success." Cup or bust.

Yea the Rangers are a fast group of forwards. Between Gaborik, Hagelin, Callahan, Kreider (may be the fastest of them all), and Prust and Richards are pretty decent skaters too. The Bruins are a pretty fast team, so I don't think speed bothers the caps all that much. We have a pretty mobile group of dmen with Green, Alzner, Carlson, Wideman all being pretty damn good skaters.
