General Sports Water Cooler

I went to the game today. He's amazing. Football's going to be fun in Charlotte for at least 10 years as long as he's healthy. I can't believe he got compared to Tebow at all coming out. Mechanics are way better, he has an absolute cannon, etc. He'll have to fix the picks but he's so fun to watch. Before today, I had been to one Panther game in like the last 5 years but I might go all the time now.

Also, I'm so glad Carolina took this risk. Everybody thought they were screwed when Luck didn't come out but they took a chance and they got a star, on and off the field. He's done everything right so far. Drafting Newton was so unlike the Panthers because they've been boring for a while but he's changed that in 2 weeks.

NFC South: Best Quarterbacked division ever?

I bemoaned this pick and have had to eat some serious crow with my old man who loved it from day one. I am completely riding his nuts at this point though. He is going to be fantastic. If Carolina can establish any type of run game, and they will as soon as other teams start respecting his passing ability, I think they will be dangerous. The last few years have been brutal to be a Panthers fan and as Heels said above, he has single handedly made it fun again.
