Last October, actor Gerard Butler visited Michigan State and attended the basketball team's Midnight Madness event and the football team's game against Illinois. His attendance drew a lot of positive publicity for MSU, and it made sense for him to be in East Lansing given that he was in the movie 300.
On Friday, Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis revealed the latest "celebrity" to jump on the Spartan bandwagon, but it makes far less sense and has been nowhere near as well received as the Butler visit.
The reaction to this news from Michigan State fans has been almost universally negative. For other fan bases, it is quite the opportunity to make fun of MSU, because what respectable university would want to be associated in any way with The Situation? I'll admit that I watch Jersey Shore, but not because I think highly of somebody who calls himself The Situation.
After getting quite the backlash from MSU fans, Hollis said that this whole thing isn't a gimmick and that The Situation simply bought a ticket to a game because he wants to watch MSU play.

West Virginia trails 3-0 about 10 minutes in and Norfolk State just forced another punt. LOL!!! WVU isn't as good as they've been in the past, and I expect them to wake up and probably win this game. But it's hilarious to watch right now. It's on Roots Sports Network here.

Not sure if this was discussed last week or in another thread, anyone got an online link to Goal Line? I'm using ESPN3 and http://www.soccertvlive.net/sport/american-football.html but don't get Goal Line on either (Also would like to find a website with RedZone for tomorrow too if anyone knows a good website)

Tavon Austin returns a punt deep into Norfolk State territory. He was looking to get away from it, and it jumped into his hands, and away he went. He is dangerous. They go for it on 4th and goal at the 5 and the Spartans stop them. LOL!!!
