WGC is underway. Tiger lost his first two holes but won #5 to get within 1 down.
McDowell (3) is the highest seed to lose so far. Simpson (2) is 2 down thru 10
The possible 2nd round match up of Scott/Van Pelt is in danger of not happening. Bo is down 3 thru 9.

Tiger wins, 1 up. Made a great sand save to win the 18th, and his opponent missed a 10-footer for birdie.
Luke Donald is in pretty serious trouble. Els is 3 up after 11.

It Tiger or Watney could have putt better earlier they could have been in control. Both have missed a bunch from inside 10 feet. Watney 1 up going to 18 after Tiger wins 16 (actually Watney loses w/ a bogey) and Watney almost chips in to win on 17.

There are 20 major champions in the field. Plus a lot of young talent. If I don't see one minute of that ridiculous swing and stepping away from putts 10 times before hitting them, I'll be fine.

That's not how it works. There were 4 spots for Monday qualifying. You're in the field if you get one. If a player withdrawls, it goes to the next non-exempt PGA tour player. The next alternate in was Carballo.

Tiger right on the cut line today through 13 at +1. Looks like he can't the ball close with approach shots this week.

I'd be surprised if it doesn go to +2 since the wind is supposed to pick up this afternoon. Tiger's biggest problem, the same one he has had over the last year, is he is not making any putts. He is good for a couple shortish misses every round. He never used to do that.

Shot Tracker has him at 50% GIR total so far, 67% today. Have to wonder what's going on in his head, he's not very confident these days.

They showed his fairways/greens yesterday on Sportscenter and he wasn't really that bad. He had 34 putts though. I don't see how he could be at 50% GIR total based on the numbers I saw yesterday.

He just birdied 8 (his 17th) so he'll be around for the weekend. NBC's purchase of the Golf Channel is going to turn out to be pretty smart, they have full coverage of Tiger whether he's in the first group out or the last group. NBC won't be thrilled if guys like Eric Compton and Harris English are in the last few groups.
This kid John Huh is having a great year so far.
