Walking Dead....

  • I am pretty sure there has been a lot of character development (well not T-dogg) because we saw Shane go off the deep end, we have seen Rick struggle with surviving and his old lifestyle of being the good guy. We have seen Glenn from joking and not taking this seriously to realizing this is real and I can be boning a hot chick but for some reason (either respect for Herschel (doubtful) or doesn't want to get close (stupid).) I mean its not super in depth like the wire. But in terms of a zombie show with a limited budget it definitely get's the job done and is ultra exciting. I don't understand what everyone is looking for?

    Giants. Yankees. Terps.

  • I wonder if they'll up the budget for Season 3?

Grimes is eulogizing Dale, who died last week when a zombie rubbed his tummy too hard. Dale, Grimes explains, could get under your skin, which is an idiom

  • I don't get this absurd "it's a zombie show, what did you expect" stance. Guess what, a zombie TV show SHOULD be one of the absolute best things on TV. Instead I find myself only continuing to watch because it IS a zombie TV show, and for no other real reason. This show had the potential to be a surefire HOFer, but instead it's just a bench player who throws out the occasional good game, but usually doesn't do too much.

The glen-bedroom offer scene was a throwaway, needlessly reiterating the point that he is feeling insecure about his ability to protect someone close to him. It was silly and unrealistic because boning would be a great time filler in that situation.

But didn't Heschel give Glen a Chrisotopher Walken ass watch in a bizarre "bone-my-daughter" ceremony? Glen should not have accepted the watch if he was too afraid to continue on with the boning.

Maybe when Herschel sees him camping out in the living room, he'll ask for his watch back.

  • It goes back to Glenn freezing up outside the bar. Before he met/boned maggie he was like the kid in zombieland, he was going through life in post-zombie america somewhat confidently because he only had himself to look after and he seemed to be able to handle it. But he isn't sure how to react now that he has someone that he feels like he has to protect. So it seems like his answer is to pull back from her a little bit.

yeah, I think he took it because it was offered, but if anything, it probably made the situation worse for him. On the one hand you've got Maggie trying to convince him hey let's just hang don't worry about being a pussy, and then on the other hand, you've got her Herschel saying, ok, I'm putting my daughter into your hands.

It's really #135434587 of the worst problems to have and likely the #1 benefit to have in this entire situation...hell, it's a freakin blessin in disguised for a guy like him. he just needs to get his head on right to figure it out.

Until this, I never noticed how much Maggie's sister looks like Egg.

Thank you. I don't get why people have such a hard time with this.

I don't read them regularly but after looking at the Videogum review linked above, it makes me want to punch the person who wrote it. Why don't you dial the snark and "cleverness" down a few levels to where your brain actually functions? The world doesn't really need another tv show reviewer.

  • Usually those reviews make me laugh and they always have some good observations, but sometimes I do want to pile drive whoever wrote it. Especially when they use alot of exclamation points! Like this! Every sentence has to end with one sometimes I guess!

  • Oh the humanity! The barn, which was such a special place for our characters!

    gurgle

  • So I'm no zombiologist (yet), but why don't zombies go towards the giant burning barn? It doesn't seem like they have the instinctive fear of fire, and they generally seem to go towards light at night. So why aren't they all walking toward/into the burning barn now that all of the prey has left the area? Is it just that the instinct to follow prey is stronger than the instinct to head toward light? Or is it just that I should stop trying to apply behavioral analysis to zombies?

    neal990

  • Zombies still have certain human instincts, one of which is that fire = bad. It's the way it's been at least since the original Night of the Living Dead.

  • Doomsday preppers on NatGeo has taught me to have a "rally point" or "bug out" point in the event you are separated in a disaster. My guess is the characters on this show change the channel after "Alaska State Troopers" and missed that advice.
