I was curious about the comics so I looked at the plot on wikipedia and wow, I didn't expect to see what I saw about Shane.

Bring in new characters

Why would hesitate when he had the chance? He could tell any story...(from preview) instead he goes back to the group and tries to recruit warrior woman?

I'm not spoiling anything b/c the show has clearly gone in a different direction, but Shane dies REALLY quickly in the comics and they find strong male characters in other places throughout the journey (2 in particular come to mind for those familiar).

Also, non-male characters step their game up. Andrea's pimp hand in particular gets outrageously strong as the comics progress.

I really hope they spare Randall now and on his way out to join up with his people, he kills Dale. PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN.

Yeah, I'd want to off Carl and Dale before the stranger. But I'd definitely want those two gone.

Can't stand it when everyone talks about what to do for 55 mins and then something big goes down in the end.

How hard it to push a anorexic looking zombie off of you?

I still like the show, but I think I'm beginning to just accept that (barring a change behind the scenes) it will have a few flaws that will keep it from being great. It's shown it's capable of some pretty intense, kick-ass scenes (e.g., in the bar, Sophia coming out of the barn, etc.), but in-between those, it feels like just a whole lot of filler at times. The emotional, character development type scenes seem to be lacking, and they often end either too abruptly or kinda lame. This week's example: Glen just saying "thanks" to taking the watch from Hershel, lol. I wonder if they should've gone the "Lost" route and used flashbacks to help fill in character-driven stuff -- worked pretty effectively for Lost. Seeing glimpses of these characters from back in the "normal" world before the infection might make them seem more interesting now, or at least provide more insight into things.
