I remember as a kid I got a tape in the mail promoting DKC and I watched it over and over again because I was in awe of the game.

    Hell yes. I remember that.

  • Is it bad that I have lost the will to play games? I buy new ones at a clip of about 2 a week (steam deals are too good to pass up), but I literally can not spend more than about 30 minutes playing a game until I get bored and do something else.

I mean, I used to play old games from 5am to 2am, go to sleep for 3 hours with my alarm set to go play more games. What the hell happened to me? Or did something happen to the games?

Same thing happened to me. I don't have the attention span usually. I feel like I could be doing other stuff.

  • I go through waves, although never to quite the manic state you describe.

The problem with having a job and actually making money is that I just buy video games whenever I feel like it, which is a much faster rate than I actually play them. As a result, I now have a library of games that I haven't played yet, but I know that I'm probably never going to get to them, because I'll buy awesome new games as they come out.

  • I've been on a zombie kick from Black Ops for the past week or so. I play a couple of times a day for about 10 minutes before losing interest.

    Can't wait for NCAA 13!

i feel the same way. like with Red Dead i stopped after about an hour and sold it. there some genres that i still play FIFA, Madden and COD but i havent played those in over a year since my RROD.

ill probably jump back in more with the next gen consoles.

Haha yeah that thing was the shit. I think it was because I was a subscriber to Nintendo Power.

I was as well. I believe I have the tape upstairs in the attic along with all my old NPs.

What's your steam library valued at?

    LeafeeWolf

  • I played 68 out of the top 100. What would everyones top 10 look like?? Here is what mine would be:

    1) Starcraft
    2) Fallout 3
    3) The Legend of Zelda
    4) SOCOM Navy Seals ( started my love for mulitplayer)
    5) NHL 94
    6) Red Dead Redemption
    7) Portal
    8) COD 4: Modern Warfare
    9) Final Fantasy 3
    10) Age of Empires

I like to play a variety of different game types. I hope your personal lists include some great, forgotten titles

Found 85 Games with a value of
    $1189.16 USD

I've played roughly 20% of them at this point.

  • In my opinion this list in inaccurate without GTA San Andreas. It deserved to be in at the very least the top 20s if not the #2 spot where BioShock was. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass but to me GTASA was the best video game of all time under Super Mario Brothers. IMJUSTSAYIN!

Why the hell would you buy a video game and not play it? Especially since these are all online and you can buy them instantly at any time. This is infuriating to me.

  • I loved GTA San Andreas, but really it just stood on the shoulders of GTA III and Vice City. GTA III was the truly revolutionary game of the group.

Coming first is a lame reason. THERE WAS NO MAP IN GTA3!!!!

Steam sales. ~10 games 50-75% off per day for 2 weeks

You end up buying a lot of games for $2-5 each with the thought of "its a good game at an absurd price, I'll play it eventually" and then you just never get to it because you forget about it

I've had this exactly conversation with myself over the past month and it absolutely sickens me. I send back gamefly games almost as soon as they come now. For shame, me. For shame.

Yep...I picked up Civ 5 for 9.99 a few weeks ago and haven't even installed it yet.

  • Along with all this game talk, I've just started getting into collecting theme/sound tracks from games. Games that wouldn't even crack my top 100, have some sound tracks I adore.

    Some examples:

    Diddy Kong Racing
Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn (Just do it up)
