I used to call my Dad every Veterans Day to thank him for his service. It was a special moment for both of us. I miss doing that.

It is such an honor to serve in the greatest Navy in the world. I have dreamed of joining the military my entire life and when I commissioned this September, my dream finally came true. I would like to thank everyone who has gone before me to protect our country for inspiring me to take this path.

My folks are both retired Navy and I take a lot of pride in that, but I'll be sure to mention it more each Vets day thanks to this post.
