At about 9:20 p.m., people waiting for the display were told to return home. The fireworks show was canceled, a radio announcement said. The Port hires the company Garden State Fireworks to operate the fireworks show. Calls to the company were not immediately returned. No injuries were reported. We (the fire dept) actually do the fireworks show for our county. While I was wiring up the "finale" yesterday I was thinking how terrible (ly awesome) it would be if we wired everything up and blew it all at once.

Also, that would have been awesome to see. Complaining about this would be like saying, "I expected to see a Kate Upton modeling a bikini, but she forgot to put it on!"
