The terps board has posts from 25 days ago. I don't care if its the offseason, thats embarrassing for the board of a flagship university with 37000 students. the wake board, a small private baptist school is 10x more active. Is this water cooler thing really working out?

I agree. I think the split has killed the free boards. I almost never check the terps board anymore and I often forget the general sports board even exists.

Yeah, I might check each of those once or twice a week, whereas I'm on here and the Premium constantly.

I will never understand how the board split "killed" the free boards. Its the same stuff split into two boards. I like having general sports split from Maryland stuff. Adding the few Maryland threads to the general sports board doesn't make this place any more active.
Its been a pretty shitty few years for MD sports so maybe that has something to do with it.

Just join premium. The free board Terps discussion has always sucked, it just looks worse because the board isn't padded by Orioles/Nats/NBA/Soccergeeks. I think the general sports board has been really good lately and premium has been solid considering how quiet things are around campus in June.

Being a premium subscriber, I have zero reason to read the regular Terps board. I read the general sports board regularly, though. I never could figure out why it was split in the first place; it clearly didn't improve anything...it was just about people whining about other threads getting in the way of Terps discussions.

There's nothing to talk about. Terps Sports gets traction during football and basketball season for people to complain and for game threads. It doesn't really get much recruiting talk unless we land someone, and it's been pretty quiet lately on the recruiting front, so yea.

The community aspect has been destroyed on this board due to a number of factors (frequent board switches, format changes, etc.) I'd imagine it's been good for Jeff's business, but the free loaders aren't part of that model.
