SPOILERS Game of Thrones Season 3- Spoilers thru book 5 (no nola

  • I'm sure he heard the rumor, but we just don't know for sure since he wasn't a POV character.

    Episode 2 tonight, leggoooo!

    PaulUMD

  • UGH SHE IS NOT WHAT SHE IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE.

    Canyonerooooo

  • The Iron Islands are not at all what I pictured. It's the first set to look basically nothing like I expected.

Yea I liked nothing about the Iron Islands Parts. That is not what Asha is supposed to look like and it is way too bright and cheery looking.

I thought they were about what I expected. I expected the Asha/Yara character to look pretty but rough. Dark hair I thought.

    Balon Greyjoy was good.

    PaulUMD

  • The Iron Island was okay and Balon was good. However, Asha is nothing like what I pictured her. She is very plain and not at all attractive. Asha is supposed to be attractive, but, rough looking w/ dark hair.

    I agree 100% on Asha.

I feel like in the books the Iron Islands were completely depressing. All grey and dark.

  • I don't think the scene with Jon catching Craster giving his son to the white walker happened in the book, right?

    HOF Jaqen H'ghar sighting!

Oh, and who is that with Sam and Grenn talking about his mom farting when she died? Bowen Marsh?

  • I like watching these twice because you get so much more detail. Stannis and Robert have the exact same accent. Didn't catch it before the final scene with him and Melisandre. And the Tyrion/Cersei scenes are phenomenal. Janos Slynt's pawnage was fun.

    PaulUMD

  • I liked the Iron Islands. The guy on the dock Theon talks to is perfect.

  • Rakharo dying is completely not from the books, btw.

Jon and Craster scene never happened in the books. No one sees Craster doing that, its only implied that Craster did that.

Rhakaro doesn't die in the books. I think all three are alive.

  • Do Stannis and Melisandre hook up in the books? I don't remember that happening. I also don't think Stannis' wife is "sickly" in the book, though I do know she's been barren and I'm sure Stannis wasn't happy with that.

Nope, that's all different. In the book the wife pushes Melisandre on Stannis, she's the crazy true believer instead of Davos' son. The books spend a lot of time talking about the difference between the "king's men" who are regular soldiers and "queens men" who are fanatical lord of light believers. Also they have a sickly daughter in the books.

That's what I thought. It seems like their not going to introduce the young maester on Dragonstone and instead use Davos' son in his role.

It is definitely (eventually) explicitly stated by Gilly that Craster gives his boys to the White Walkers/Others.

Yea that all confused the crap out of me and I didn't even realize that was Davos son until they blatantly said it. I was also playing online poker while watching this episode so I am definitely going to watch it again tonight.

    - All three Blood Riders are alive in the books as far as I know
    - They changed Asha's name
    - They show Craster giving his sons up to the Whitewalkers
    - Stannis and Melisandre are openly hooking up
    - No Patchface or their daughter with the weird growth on her face
    - no young maester at Dragonstone

    Anything I'm missing?

    Canyonerooooo

  • They supposedly changed Asha's name because they felt it would confuse viewers to have Ayra (Arry), Osha and Asha. Not that Yara is that much better.

Not that happy, though I don't think it's that big of a deal, that they had Stannis hook up with Melisandre. Stannis is suppose to be a guy whose morals are black and white, hooking up with her for the glory of the crown and for a chance at a true heir is not something I would see Stannis doing.

Bronn was made head of the City Watch.

I think this was directly implied in the third book.

Obviously they are setting it up for the evil shadow child birthing scene at Storms end latter.

  • No screen time for HOF Robb Stark this episode made me sad.
