No she wasn't a nurse in the book but helped to did help heal Robbs wounds.

I know that, but it seemed like they were planting the seeds of a future relationship in that scene. Given that his wife heals his wounds, I'm not sure if this nurse is going to be his future wife on the show.

Your right they are "changing" the story line in that regard.

The also combined the Renly killing and the Storms end incident. Its ok. I like the changes. They are showing all of little fingers scheming too.

I figured they'd combine the Renly killing and the Storms end incident since they've waited this long to kill Renly. Not enough time to do both unless Renly was killed off in one of the first two episodes. Combining the two was the right call.

Yeah it's a good way to cut down on the material by skipping similar incidents and making them one.
Harrenhal was awesome, and what I expected. Sucks they had to recast the Mountain. Interesting that Arya is to become Tywin's cupbearer and not Bolton's. I like that better because I thought it was always stupid that Arya wouldn't tell his brother's bannerman who she was (even though we know later he's a traitor).
Also, HOF Jaqen mentions 3 deaths stolen from the red god, not the faceless god. Wonder how they're going to deal with Arya's story later on.

lol. The new cities were masterfully done. So far Dragonstone, Pyke, Harrenhal and Qarth have been added this season. We still have to see more of Qarth but so far so good. This season they will also show Riverrun eventually. I think Dany stays in Qarth till the end of the season so no more cities there yet. They haven't talked about the chain yet which is weird, but they do have 4 episodes to get into it. Didn't love the first three episodes but this one was awesome.

I like how Joffrey is what, 13?? And he rolls around with a huge crossbow at all times.
He is more of a monster on the show than in the books imo. Agree they are trying to portray Cersei as less of a horrible person.

I have some major questions where they're going with Jeyne Westerling in the show. I'm worried that they're going to make her more of a prominent character, and have them legit fall in love, which would completely change the reason for Robb's downfall (worrying about honor).

Yeah though didn't they mostly fall in love in the books too? I know honor was the main reason but I thought it was conveyed that they genuinely cared for each other.

I mean, whether they were in love or not, the reason they got married was because Robb heard about Bran and Rickon's "death", slept with her due to how emotional he was, and then felt that he had to marry her to defend her honor. If she's going to be a strong character and they have long-term feelings, then the honor thing kind of becomes secondary, when it should be the prominent factor.

They made such a big deal about his eyes in the book. This guy doesn't have crazy eyes.
The weird thing about watching Season 1, reading the first 3 books, and now watching season 2 is the weird combination of having a visual for some characters before reading and having to create a menta picture for others and THEN being introduced to them on TV.
The character who most resembles my mental picture so far is Davos.
